[2025 Changhua Attraction] Travel Guide for Eight Trigram Mountains Buddha Landscape (Updated May)

#MarchGoodPlaces2025 When thinking of Changhua, the first thing that comes to mind is the Baguashan Giant Buddha, which was once listed as one of the eight scenic spots in Taiwan. The landmark Buddha statue on Bagua Mountain was completed in 1961. Looking forward from the observation deck on the mountain, you can see the Lukang area and the Taiwan Strait as far as the eye can see. There is also a skywalk in the scenic area that was completed in July 2016, connecting other scenic spots in the north and south regions. The total length of the trail is 1,006 meters and the highest point is 16 meters. It was the longest skywalk in Taiwan at the time. This is also the location where Changhua holds the Lantern Festival every year. The archway trail, observation deck, and skywalk are all decorated with colorful lights, attracting many tourists to come and worship.

When traveling to Taichung, make sure to visit Changhua as well. The Baguashan Great Buddha Scenic Area is located near Changhua Station. You can either take a bus or walk there. Although there is a slight uphill climb to reach the scenic area, it is relatively easy. The Great Buddha is magnificent, and the view from the observation deck is expansive. On 2025/04/09, I took the high-speed rail south and went to Bagua Mountain in Changhua in the afternoon to worship the Big Buddha. I was lucky to see the sunset. That night, I stayed at the Chengxie Hotel Zhongzheng Branch, which I booked through Trip. The next day, 2025/04/10, I went to Hexing Temple (Paodan Mazu) early in the morning to participate in the Dajia Mazu Procession.
