The museum was built with funds raised by the industry, initiated by Yan Changshou, who invited Jiang Xian-er back to Taitung. The three minimalist concrete buildings incorporate water elements, creating a serene and artistic atmosphere. After the visit, checked into the Chao Guya Hotel and admired the owner's art collection, which includes large-scale works by Jiang Xian-er. Day 2: Left the hotel to visit the Taitung Art Museum and Taitung Cultural Center, coincidentally encountering the graduation ceremony and exhibition of the Taitung Girls' High School art class. The artworks showcased academic-style painting skills, complemented by computer AI-generated illustrations, adding a touch of fun. After lunch nearby, headed to the Taitung Forest Recreation Area for a forest bath. Especially at the Grassland Plateau, where the sea breeze and the seamless connection of the blue sky and ocean were so soothing. Ocean activities are a must-try here. We went scuba diving 🤿, and the water was crystal clear. Coral reefs and tropical fish swam right beside us, and I even saw a sea snake, which got me super excited! It felt like stepping into an underwater paradise 🐠. We tried flying fish dishes, including pan-fried, charcoal-grilled, and fried rice versions, all bursting with flavor. We also had the famous taro ice cream, which was so refreshing to enjoy by the coast. In the evening, we visited Dongqing Village, where a small market and lively crowds created a vibrant atmosphere. The sunset reflecting on the ocean along the way was absolutely stunning 🌅. At dawn, we took a peaceful stroll along the beach in Langdao Village. The sunlight glimmered on the traditional canoes, creating a serene and healing moment. During these three days on the island, there was no noise, just the sea breeze, sunshine, and a lingering desire to stay. This was my first time solo-travel to Taitung. It is a beautiful place that I will visit again and again. I made a lot of good friends at the hostel and during the swim in the ocean. I love the view on the way here by train, and I love that how the eastern Taiwan still preserves nature really well. The Stone Umbrella is a special sea erosion landform on the eastern coast. It is the result of long-term erosion by wind and rain over the years, forming a shape that is thin at the bottom and wide at the top, resembling an open umbrella. Shen Wencheng has a song called "Come and Go to Taitung" which has made the Stone Umbrella, a well-known scenic spot in Taitung, well-known to everyone. You can reach the sea erosion area by following the wooden plank trail next to the scenic pavilion. Standing on top and overlooking the magnificent Pacific Ocean and the green coastal mountains in the sky, listening to the sound of the waves carefully is a different feeling.

Sanxiantai is arguably the most famous tourist attraction in Taitung, drawing more visitors than other scenic spots or rest areas along Highway 11. The name "Sanxiantai" comes from the legend that three immortals—Lü Dongbin, He Xiangu, and Li Tieguai—once visited this island. In 2009, the eight-arch cross-sea bridge to Sanxiantai Island was completed. Before its construction, visitors could only reach the island by wading through the water during low tide. The bridge, with its wave-like design resembling a giant dragon lying across the sea, has become a prominent landmark on the East Coast. Although I have looked up information about Luye Shrine before, I have never been here, nor did I notice that it is so close to Luye Plateau. This year, I took advantage of the Spring Festival holiday to arrange a five-day counterclockwise trip around the island, and the first stop was Luno Shrine. In fact, the shrine is connected to the temple, but it is not known whether the two have any relationship. One is Taiwanese style and the other is Japanese style, standing side by side. There is also a "Torii" in front of the shrine. Going further ahead, there is a small wooden house in front of you. This is the shrine, but the door of the shrine is not open and I don't know if there are any statues or tablets enshrined inside. It is just a very simple place. This roadside park on Provincial Highway 9 in Dawu Township, Taitung faces the mountain on one side and the sea on the other. When I first saw this park, I thought we were in the wrong place. We came to the park to see the art installations, not to camp. That’s right, Nantian Coast Water Park is also a camping area, but due to the epidemic, the camping area is currently not open, and the installation art we are going to visit is on the beach behind the park. This work "South to South" was created by the 404 N.F team. What the team wanted to express was to create a sensory experience composed of field, light and movement through cross-disciplinary cooperation. As it was getting dark and the light was insufficient, the photos we took were not as clear as those taken during the day. This was also the last work of the Southern Art Festival that we had been pursuing for the past two days. Art is a very abstract thing. Most viewers may only judge whether a work is good-looking or not based on its beauty or ugliness without knowing what the author wants to say or express in his heart.
