From Abu Dhabi to Dubai Frame [UAE]
Since I was in transit in Abu Dhabi for over 12 hours, I decided to see Dubai too! Since it was cheap, I decided to go to Dubai Frame.
I took a bus from Abu Dhabi to Dubai, and there was a ticket office near the bus stop at Abu Dhabi Airport.
It took about an hour to get to Ibn Battuta Mall, and from there I took the Dubai Metro.
I first tried to buy a Nol Card from a ticket machine, but it didn't work, so I bought it at a manned ticket booth.
It's called the Dubai Metro, but it runs almost above ground level and the scenery is great 🙆 There are many trains, but it was quite crowded and I could hardly find a seat.
As Google Maps said, I got off at the MAX station, and it was a 40-minute walk from there, so I obediently called an Uber and went to the front of the gate, but... there was a huge line of people!
And the Dubai Frame is huge! It's so cool!! ! There was a sign that said you could get priority entry for a considerable additional fee, but since I'm not a celebrity, I just waited in line. I ended up waiting for about an hour and a half. At first, it was under the blazing sun with no obstructions, but halfway through, it got shaded by trees and it became much cooler, but I recommend going early or at a time when it's less crowded.
First of all, there was an exhibition inside, and on the way there and back, you could see the exhibitions of Dubai's past and future. It was a good deal to be able to see the observation deck and the exhibitions for about 2,000 yen✨
The observation deck has a transparent middle, which is really scary!
I'm not good with heights, so I was quite scared.
You could see the Burj Khalifa from the window, and the view of Dubai city was great.
By the way, there are some food and drink shops in the observation deck, and one of them is Yamanote Atelier (a Japanese-style bakery)!
As a Japanese person, I was intrigued😊
Afterwards, when I was having pasta lunch at a cafe next to the Dubai Frame, I met a friendly cat🐈
It was a relaxing time.
On the way back, I took Uber → metro → bus to Abu Dhabi. The bus seems to leave every hour, but be careful because the bus ticket booth on the Dubai side is a little hard to find⚠️
I bought a ticket at a hut-like place on the left side of the bus terminal towards Ibn Battuta Mall.
I thought I just had to look for a bus with the same logo as on the way there, but on the way back it looked completely different, and I thought I might have missed the bus if I hadn't found the hut.
I realized later that Dubai Frame was almost at the very opposite end of Dubai from Abu Dhabi, so I ended up traveling quite a distance lol
But it was a fun trip, including the travel time.
