#beachlife How to Get There - Dapeng is a gem in Shenzhen with endless hiking and camping resources, and Dongyong beach is one of the many options in that area. Located far outside Shenzhen city, it takes around 3 hours to get there by public transport. But once you get there you’ll know it is absolutely worth the travel. Highlight - @VickyWalks and I spent two days exploring Dongyong beach and its surrounding mountains. We initially planned to hike a six-hour trail but ended up discovering a perfect campground after having deviated from the route by accident. We happily decided to camp out on that spot instead of continuing the hike. Everything turned out even better than expected - we had everything we needed at the campsite with a gorgeous sea view.

You really don’t have to walk the entire section. 2. There are toilets and shops at the starting point and the end point, but there is no place to get supplies on the hiking trail. Guangdong Shenzhen Dongchong Beach Located at the southernmost part of the Dapeng Peninsula in Shenzhen, the water is clear, and the sand is very fine. It's a great place for camping, sea foraging, surfing, hiking, paddle boarding, and other leisure activities!

🌟 The Wear Nose Rock is geologically known as a sea arch, a rather rare and very peculiar coastal erosion landform on rocky shores. The cape, surrounded by the sea on three sides, is strongly eroded by waves on both sides, forming sea caves. As the waves continue to act, the sea caves interconnect, forming an arch. Be sure to pay attention to sun protection! 🔆 Tips for visiting: 1️⃣ The beach you walk to is now about 4-5 o'clock when the tide rises to the level of your calves, so you need to wade through the water. It's best to go during the low tide between 3-4 o'clock. 2️⃣ The caves are all rocky, so you must wear shoes that prevent slipping. 3️⃣ There are many rocks, so remember to be safe and careful not to bump into them. 4️⃣ In addition to swimming and playing in the water at Dongchong Beach, there are surfing and paddleboarding lessons available. Next to it is a big排头, a 5-minute climb will give you a beautiful view of the coast.

Dongxichong is located at the southernmost tip of the Dapeng Peninsula in Shenzhen, surrounded by mountains on three sides and the sea on one side. There are five or six small mountains along the way, and the coastline is long. It has been rated by the National Geographic Magazine as one of the most beautiful coastlines in China. It is also one of the most classic and popular outdoor hiking routes in Shenzhen. I started from Baoan District, took the subway to Shenzhen North Station (around 7:30), then took the E11 bus (fare 10¥), and arrived at the Xinda Bus Terminal around 9:40! At 10:00, I took the Dapeng Holiday Shuttle Line 3 (fare 2.5¥) to Dongchong Bathing Beach Bus Station (arrived around 10:30), and then my Dongxichong crossing journey began! From Dongchong Bathing Beach Bus Station, I walked over a bridge and then started climbing. The rest of the journey was basically half climbing and half along the sea. It was really amazing to see the sea from the mountain, which made me marvel at the magic of nature! Walking along the sea on the rocks, you can feel the wind and waves, which is really joyful. Plus, the weather was super nice, and the color of the sea was really beautiful. You can clearly see that the water is a gradient of blue and green! In this way, you have to walk about five or six small mountains. Each small mountain has a supply station, where water, ice cream (old popsicles seem to be 10 yuan for three, cheaper than Wutong Mountain haha) and snacks are available! The scenery along the way is really beautiful (as you can see in the picture, the real scene is even more beautiful). There are several places with national flags, which are really cool! Around two o'clock in the afternoon, I arrived at a supply station not far from the observatory. There are two choices: one is to climb the mountain to the observatory; the other is to continue along the coastline, which seems to lead to the most beautiful plank road of the observatory, and then to Xichong! You can also take a shuttle bus (10¥) from the observatory parking lot to Xichong Beach. Route: Self-driving: You need to make a reservation to enter Dapeng, and you can navigate directly to Xichong No. 4 Beach! Then take a taxi to Dongchong Bathing Beach Transportation: Subway to Shenzhen North Station - E11 bus - Xinda Bus Terminal - Dapeng Holiday Shuttle Line 3 (this bus is only available during holidays and weekends from May 1st to October 7th, starting at 10:00, about half an hour) - Dongchong Bathing Beach Bus Station/Dongchong Community Work Station Bus Station; or subway to Shenzhen North Station - E11 bus - Nanao Moon Bay Bus Station - M231 bus - Dongchong Bathing Beach Bus Station (I recommend this route, because M231 is available every day, and there are many, I knew it later, I feel like I wasted a lot of time hhh) Return trip: Walk from Xichong Beach for about 20 to 30 minutes to Hesuyu Village (there are homestays and food here) -M232 bus to Zhongzhe Xing (also available) -M426 bus to Yanzi Lake Subway Station! Suggestions: Pay attention to sun protection! The weather is very good, the scenery is beautiful, and the sea is blue! But the sun is very hot! I got sunburned! Wear comfortable shoes, don't bring too many things, there are things for sale at the supply station! Restrooms: There are not many restrooms near the observatory, there are several restrooms along the way, some of them cost money, and some are free, they are very close, it seems unnecessary to go to the ones that cost money Wear gloves, because some places need to pull iron chains!

For those who are interested in crossing from east to west in Shenzhen, please be cautious: this is the most challenging hike I've ever done. After completing the MacLehose Trail, I was only sweaty, but after crossing from east to west, I was covered in dirt... I was so dirty that I was embarrassed to take a taxi... The road conditions are like this👇The bay is jumping around on large rocks, if you can't walk, you'll have to climb over the mountain. The mountain is not high but requires rope climbing, the slope up and down is the same～But the scenery is absolutely beautiful, the supply on the road is also very complete, any bay has speedboats ready to take you away at any time, and the mung bean jelly is also very delicious.
