Located at the junction of Zhongshan 4th Road and Yuexiu Middle Road in Guangzhou, one of the old landmark buildings in Guangzhou, the Qing Dynasty pawnshop watchtower "Dongping Daya" (also known as the old site of the Qing Dynasty Dadongmen pawnshop watchtower) with a history of more than 100 years, is now transformed into museum. The ancient watchtower of "Dongping Daye" is located at No. 1 Zhongshan Fourth Road, next to the city gate tower of Dongcheng Gate in the Ming Dynasty. This watchtower-shaped pawnshop site was built in the Qing Dynasty, commonly known as "Dadongmen pawnshop". The plane of the ancient building is square, with five stories on the north side and four stories on the south side. The facade of the building is in the shape of a watchtower. Today, there are only pawnshops in the warehouse building. There are windows on all sides. The windows are big inside and small outside. The granite window covers and the roof has a parapet, which makes the whole building look like a bunker. It was designated as a bunker in 1999. Guangzhou Municipal Cultural Relics. The first floor of the Pawn Museum is the main exhibition hall, which restores the high counters and pawn scenes of pawn shops in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties; the second floor displays the cultural and historical materials, pictures and real objects of modern pawns; the third floor shows the development and innovation of the modern pawn industry. At the same time, it is also used to hold appreciation and knowledge lectures on various pawn items. For the protection of buildings and cultural relics, this museum with a building area of about 400 square meters can accommodate about 15-30 audiences at one time.
