Penghu Accommodation: Pengcheng Hotel
[The most fun resort hotel in Penghu]
If you usually stay in a hotel and think that having a swimming pool and a gym is already great, you must have never been to the Pengcheng Hotel, which has just opened in Penghu. There are ninja training grounds, high-altitude basketball courts, children's entertainment rooms, saunas, AR interactive projection climbing walls, whiskey collection experience halls and duty-free shopping malls. You can play inside for three days and two nights without leaving the hotel! Such an exaggerated place, come with me to take a look.
Pengcheng Hotel, which officially opened in February 2018, is located in the city of Magong, Penghu, just a dozen minutes' drive from the airport. Opposite it is the Nanhai Visitor Center and Magong Nanhai Pier. If you want to go island hopping, you can depart from this pier. The transportation is very convenient. As soon as you step into Pengcheng Hotel, you will feel the grandeur. The lobby is extremely spacious and the long sofa can accommodate two people. It is very exaggerated.
The hotel's decoration design also incorporates a lot of Penghu elements. For example, behind the check-in counter, you can find patterns such as waves, sailboats, schools of fish, horseback and cosmos representing Penghu. The elevator lobby looks like an old fortress, the small lights inside the elevator look like small windows of a turret, and the room numbers on each floor are printed on oars. Things related to sailing or the ocean can be seen everywhere.
There is a cafe in the lobby lounge selling simple food and drinks.
The "Four Seasons Loft Season King" guest room is very suitable for family travel. There is a super cute cabin inside, and the children will definitely have a lot of fun. This series of guest rooms is designed with adventure as its concept. There are three themes: Gorgeous Penghu Bay, Cactus Paradise and Tropical Jungle Adventure. Even the stuffed dolls on the bed have matching themes. I like the forest theme the best.
The other "VILLA ROOM" room is perfect for enjoying the sea view. I especially like the bathtub facing the sea. This position is a good place to take a fake Instagram check-in photo.
The hotel has a variety of great facilities, including a rooftop swimming pool with a first-class view, but it is too windy during the windy season! big! wind! As soon as we went out, we heard the howling of the wind, like a No. 8 typhoon signal. Anyone who was a little thin would be blown away by the wind. The rooftop also has an aerial basketball court, a children's playroom, a sauna and a SPA. In fact, when you come to Penghu to play, you sometimes have to rely on the weather. For example, the last time I came, there was a typhoon, and it was windy and rainy outside and I couldn’t go out. If you stay in a hotel with super facilities like Pengcheng, you don’t have to worry about being bored.
It is so dreamy to do exercise facing the sea view. The fitness facilities seem to be top-notch products, but they are not as good as the extreme sports field next to it. This indoor extreme sports venue called "GO STAR" was specially designed by an international team. It is Taiwan's first large-scale non-mechanical sports venue. It has an AR interactive projection climbing wall, a ninja training ground, a high-altitude rope course, etc. It is suitable for active people to show off their skills and challenge their personal limits.
The hotel has only one restaurant, "Cheng Cheng", which is named after its meaning of "like pure and clear sea water". The food here serves Chaozhou/Cantonese cuisine, and the chef happens to be from Hong Kong, so there is no need to worry about the taste being wrong. Penghu is surrounded by the sea and is a great place to eat seafood. The restaurant's ingredients are of course mainly fresh and natural local ingredients. Groups of people can choose set dishes or meal packages, and of course they can also order a la carte.
In addition to dining, the restaurant also has the "Chenchen Lounge", which offers cocktails based on aged specialties from different islands and paired with fruit juices. It also offers local wines from Matsu, Kinmen, Penghu, Green Island and Ryukyu, paired with the chef's specially prepared light meals, accompanied by a comfortable and intoxicating sea view.
I stayed in the "Discovery Room". When I opened the curtains, there was a terrace with a sea view. The room was also very spacious and comfortable.
The bathroom is not small and has a bathtub. I felt that the water tasted a bit muddy. Later, the tour guide told me that Penghu uses a desalination plant to supply water, so it has a special taste. It seems that my taste buds are very sensitive XD. The mugs and slippers are also the hotel's own designs and look cute too.
For those who like shopping and visiting duty-free shops, good news! There is a shopping mall right inside the hotel where you can do a lot of shopping. International famous brands, cosmetics and Taiwan specialties are all available. But it turns out that buying duty-free goods in Penghu is quite interesting. You can only pre-order them in the city and pick them up at the airport before leaving. It’s so convenient that you don’t have to move things around by yourself! XD Another highlight is the Whisky Collection Experience Hall, where you can learn about the whisky production process, smell and taste the whisky. They also airlift various famous whiskies from Europe to Penghu. You can look at the map to know the locations of the major distilleries and also drink the wine they produce. The environment is also super beautiful, and you can take photos and check in even if you don’t drink.
