If you want to stay in Hong Kong for a long vacation, Discovery Bay is a good choice! We stayed in Discovery Bay for two days and one night, and the scenery during the day and at night was unique. In addition to the European-style Discovery Park North Plaza, the beach near the pier is a paradise for children. I had originally planned to go ice skating at the newly opened Discovery Bay Ice Rink, but my schedule seems too tight, so I’ll have to leave it for my next trip to Discovery Bay! Discovery Bay truly feels like a place abroad, with about 80% of the people around being foreigners. There are many restaurants run by foreigners here. Today, we chose a rather unique and rare Turkish cuisine. The restaurant has a comfortable environment, with an outdoor area that offers a sea view. There are two heart-shaped seats, perfect for taking photos. The menu is bilingual (Chinese and English), and most dishes come with pictures and main ingredients listed, making it easy for customers to order. Yogurt Soup It looks a bit like mushroom soup, with rice at the bottom. The texture is not too thick, and it has a slightly sour and salty taste, which is quite unique. The soup comes with homemade bread, which is warm and soft. You can dip the bread in the soup to enhance the texture. Lamb with Fries (Wedges) The lamb is not too gamey, so even those who are sensitive to the taste of lamb can try it. The fries (wedges) are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a strong potato flavor. The accompanying salad with pickled vegetables is appetizing and helps to reduce the greasiness of eating too much meat. Classic Eggplant Dip (Appetizer) This appetizer is made from mashed eggplant mixed with olive oil, garlic, sesame, and lemon juice. It is a dish rich in Turkish characteristics. The garlic flavor is not too strong, and it is not spicy. You can dip bread in this appetizer, and it pairs well. Turkish Coffee Made to order, we chose it without sugar. Starting from Discovery Bay, you can take a ferry from Nim Shue Wan Pier to the Shenleyuan Pier, then walk up and pass the Via Dolorosa to reach the chapel of Our Lady of Shenleyuan.
