If you got off at Kanagi Station on the Tsugaru Stove Train, and if you have read Osamu Dazai's works, this is a must-see place: the Osamu Dazai Memorial Museum. This house was built by Dazai's father, a huge landowner, for a whopping 500 million yen at the time, and you can see the wealth of the Dazai family. This house, which is two stories high, has a large garden, wide rooms and hallways, and a mix of Japanese-Western architecture and traditional tatami mats, and is unique in that it is neither a Western-style house nor a Japanese-style house. Audio guides are available inside, and luggage can be stored at the entrance. The exhibits are not large, but they are enough to help you understand Osamu Dazai. Highly recommended!!
