Coney Island feels like a distant long lost memory to those not from New York, this once thriving beach resort on the edge of the Big Apple seems to be downtrodden and forgotten about. In the early morning, the place is covered with a dusting of fog, making it eerie, however as the morning progresses you'll see this beach resort come to life with music, lights and food. This is the home of Nathan's hotdogs, the original freak show and every horror movie circus theme you can imagine. It's a great place to take photos, and there are both thrilling and romantic rides, as well as the sea and beach 🏖️ 🎢Tickets: You don't need a ticket to take photos or stroll around, only to go on rides. There are two parks on either side. If you like thrilling rides, I highly recommend buying a Lunar Park wristband, which costs $75 and lets you go on any ride. There are basically no lines, so you can have a blast. Wonder Wheel is more suitable for children, with gentler rides. You can also buy tickets for individual rides, and there are many ticket booths on site. Some rides have free lockers, but for others, you can just leave your things on the ground. 🎢Transportation: You can take the D, F, N, or Q subway for about an hour, or drive from Manhattan for 45 minutes. The address is 1000 Surf Ave, Brooklyn, NY. I recommend taking the subway! 🎢What to wear: You should definitely wear something retro, and a film camera would be perfect. All the way south from the Isle of Man, I finally came to coney island at the end of October. I heard about this retro playground and one of the few beaches in New York a long time ago, and I wanted to visit it before the end of autumn. Because it is a weekday afternoon, there are not many people. The weather is very good. In the sunshine, the whole playground and beach are filled with a hazy golden fog, adding some retro atmosphere. The wind at the seaside in October is still very strong.
