A perfect weekend getaway. Nanbei Lake is in Zhejiang, just across the provincial border from Shanghai. The food in the town is delicious and very sweet. There were lots of restaurants and tea houses to visit. Each cluster had its own style and the people in the town were very friendly. When we were there we took the little boat out on the lake and cycled around on the 'chuckle brothers' style tandem. There are lots of hiking trails in the surrounding mountains and new routes were being forged and build in the area. Getting There- from Shanghai we opted to cycle the 130km journey, but a taxi or train and then taxi are options too. This is a spot a little off the beaten track and good opportunity to practice your Chinese #mountainview #lakes

Haiyan North and South Hunan Mountain Horse Club, riding here, can be different from the general park, is the real high horse, of course, there are also pony for children to ride, are all good horses. The Jiaxing Kaiyuan Senbo Resort is a fantastic experience. Here's my travel guide and some tips! Preparation 1. What to bring: For the water park, bring swimwear, a swimming cap, inflatable rings, waterproof bags, and water shoes (the water park provides towels, shower gel, and hair dryers). Fantasy Island provides a pair of non-slip socks, but children with free admission need to bring their own. You can also bring some snacks, as food and drinks inside the resort are a bit pricey. 2. Booking a room: Senbo Resort by Nanhu Lake offers various accommodations, including main building rooms, wooden houses, castle rooms, mushroom houses, and boat houses. I recommend staying in the main building for easy access to facilities and restaurants. Wooden houses are surrounded by orange groves and offer spacious rooms with complete children's amenities, but there might be a slight smell of new renovations (air purifiers are provided). 3. Booking services: I highly recommend the butler service! The hotel will call you the day before check-in to ask if you'd like the service. The butlers are very attentive, providing a schedule of daily activities, game coins, and a small gift upon check-out. Activities 1. Fantasy Island: This indoor children's play area, though smaller than those at other Senbo Resorts, offers a wide range of activities, including rock climbing, cycling, trampolines, sand pits, a ball pit, dress-up, and pretend play. 2. Water Park: Currently, only the indoor area is open, but the heating is sufficient, so you don't have to worry about being cold. While not huge, it meets basic water play needs. The outdoor area, which opens during summer, is quite large and is said to have many exciting attractions. The indoor area features a wave pool, a children's pool, a massage pool, and slides, offering fun for both adults and children. 3. Player One: This cyberpunk-style game arcade offers VR games, e-sports, arcade games, and claw machines, catering to players of all ages and interests. 4. Small Train: At ¥30 per person (free for children under three years old), the train ride lasts about 40 minutes, circling the lake with beautiful scenery along the way. It's a great experience for children. Dining 1. Senling Cave Restaurant (Buffet): Dinner is ¥178 per person for hotel guests, free for children under 1.2m. The buffet is decent, with a children's buffet section and a show during dinner. 2. Yanlai Xuan Chinese Restaurant: This restaurant specializes in Hangzhou cuisine, with an average cost of around ¥100 per person. 3. Senbo Bar (Family Club): Offers drinks, light meals, karaoke, board games, and painting activities. Tips 1. Time management: For a two-day, one-night trip, choose one of the two parks. For a three-day, two-night trip, you can visit both. 2. Avoid peak times: Weekends and holidays can be crowded, so visiting on a working day is recommended. Also, try to avoid peak dining hours to minimize waiting times at restaurants. 3. Important notes: Some attractions in the water park have height and weight restrictions. Parents with children should check these in advance. The hot springs are not recommended, as the water temperature is not ideal, and the changing area is small and not very clean. Jiaxing Kaiyuan Senbo Resort is perfect for families. Despite some minor drawbacks, the overall experience is excellent. It's definitely worth a visit!

Jiashan New Century Senbo Resort opened in September 2024. It is located in Nanbei Lake, a national 4A-level scenic spot in Haiyan County, Jiashan City. The resort covers a total area of 550 mu and has a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan. It enjoys convenient transportation and is surrounded by beautiful lakes, mountains, and sea views. Here are the details: Accommodation and Dining - Rooms: A total of 439 rooms are available in three sections: the resort hotel, resort cabins, and hot spring hotel. Room types include Senbo terrace double rooms, family rooms, and LOFT duplexes. Some rooms have private hot spring pools and terraces. - Dining: The resort offers a variety of dining options, including the Senling Cave Restaurant (buffet), Yanlai Xuan (Chinese restaurant), and the Trendy Bar. These venues serve a wide range of cuisines, local specialties, and beverages. The Shendang Granary, an industrial heritage site with nearly 70 years of history, has been revitalized into a popular attraction and comprehensive tourist destination integrating culture, leisure, and entertainment. Behind the granary are the Conception Geometry BOOKS·Granary Bookstore and the Conception Geometry Coffee Factory. The bookstore has a unique layout and offers plenty of comfortable seating. A special display of Yu Hua's works is visible upon entering. I bought a copy of *To Live* as a tribute to Mr. Yu Hua, and I look forward to reading it. The coffee shop is also quite good, offering drinks and light meals. The scenic area also includes the Shendang Restaurant, where we had lunch.

🏠 Accommodation 1.Haiyan International Hotel Checkin was easy. Reception didn't even ask for the voucher. They ask for your ID and they already have the booking on their system. Rooms are abit dusty, but overall normal standards. The staff at breakfast are helpful, especially aunty at the noodle bar, she is exceptionally friendly and lovely! Very close to Western food outlets - KFC, McDonald's, Pizza Hut. 👍 👍 👍

I even found Yu Hua’s teacher in the underground wine cellar of Shen Tang Brewing..... If you drive 🚗 Navigate to [Nanbeihu Transfer Center] and park your car in the nearby parking lot ⚠️The Nanbei Lake Scenic Area does not charge admission now, but parking fees are charged for cars entering the scenic area. It is free within 1 hour, and 20 for 1-9 hours. 1️⃣The starting point is right next to the parking lot. Go up the stone steps and you will see a bamboo forest path. The bamboos are still relatively cool and you won’t get any sun. 2️⃣After the bamboo forest, there will be a mountain road, but it is also relatively easy to walk 3️⃣Then we arrived at a tea garden, where we could already see the scenery below the mountain. You will pass a small path with a stream. Going down further, you will see a big stone engraved with [Xijian]. Below is [Xijian Thatched Cottage] 7️⃣ When you reach this place, you have reached the North Lake. There is a car rental point here with bicycles and electric cars. Of course, you can also choose to continue walking. If you want to rent a car, you can use the [Hello] app. During holidays, electric cars are 💰70/half hour, and bicycles seem to be 💰60/half hour (I can't remember exactly, but it's a little cheaper than electric ones). I thought the Haiyan Fengyi Scenic Area would be crowded, but it wasn't. On a weekend with perfect weather, we surprisingly enjoyed a tea garden all to ourselves. 🌈Highlights: 💚Tea Garden - Located just uphill, it's not huge, but there's no！one！there! It's great for taking photos, and there's a coffee shop called "Up Down Hill." 🤎Air-Raid Shelter - Dug at the end of the 1950s, it's about 300m long. Tianning Temple, located at Haibin West Road, Haiyan County, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province, is a large Buddhist temple with a rich history and culture. Tianning Temple is one of the ten largest temples in China. According to records, it was built in the Han Dynasty and was originally named Chanyue Monastery. In the fourth year of Song Chongning (1105), it was renamed Tianning Yongzuo Chan Temple, or Tianning Temple for short. It is a key Buddhist site in Zhejiang Province. The main structures of Tianning Temple include the Thousand Buddha Pavilion and Zhenhai Pagoda. The Thousand Buddha Pavilion is currently the largest single wooden structure from the Ming Dynasty in Zhejiang Province. Built in the first year of Ming Chongzhen (1628), it was once praised by Professor Chen Congzhou as the "First Pavilion of Zhejiang." Zhenhai Pagoda was built in the third year of Yuan Zhiyuan (1337) under the supervision of the famous monk Fan Qi. It was once a landmark building in Haiyan County. Qiyuan: Originally the Feng family garden, the owner of the garden, Feng Zunzhai, was the second son-in-law of the Qing Dynasty poet Huang Xieqing. The Huang family owned Zhuoyi Garden and Yan Garden, and gave the two gardens as a dowry to their second daughter. During the reign of Emperor Xianfeng of the Qing Dynasty, the two gardens were destroyed by war. Starting from the sixth year of the Tongzhi reign, the Feng family gathered the essence of the rocks and stones of the two gardens to build this garden, and continued to build pavilions, towers, etc., added scenic spots, and named it Qiyuan, which means a gorgeous dressing box. In 1950, Feng's descendants donated Qiyuan to the country. Qiyuan is now a national key cultural relic protection site.
