Hainan Trip — The Last Li Tribe — Hongshui Village
Changjiang Lixiang Time Homestay, Changjiang, Hainan
At the Baoshan Kapok Viewing Platform in Qicha Town, Changjiang County, Hainan Province, I admired the kapok flowers, which looked like rosy clouds and fire, complementing the green terraced fields and Li village houses, creating a picturesque gallery of early tropical spring. Following the navigation towards Wangxia Huangdi Cave for about an hour, we arrived at Wangxia Township. On the roadside, bougainvilleas were in full bloom, and a stream flowed down from a small hill-like rock, resembling a delicate bonsai, attracting people to stop and admire. Further ahead, at the fork in the road, the right side leads to Huangdi Cave, while the left side leads along a rugged mountain road, embarking on a journey to explore Hongshui Village in Changjiang, Hainan.
Hongshui Village is a treasure of Li ethnic customs, where time stands still under the shadow of the boat-shaped houses, as sweet as ever. Every inch of land in Hongshui Village carries a profound history, and every breeze seems to whisper ancient legends. The traditional Li boat-shaped houses are scattered throughout the village, like unfinished poems, immersing people in this simplicity and tranquility. Walking along the path, sunlight filters through the gaps in the leaves, forming spots of golden light, and the distant mountains complement the azure sky.
This is our second time visiting Hongshui Village, and we feel like we came too late. When we visited in early February the year before last, the rice fields were filled with water, and the blue sky, white clouds, coconut trees, and mountains were reflected in the fields, forming a refreshing natural picture.
