Changgyeonggung and Changdeokgung Palaces and Secret garden will be free entrance if you wear a traditional hanbok (which you surely should cause I think I enjoyed hanbok experience more than the palaces themselves,.. girls be girls I guess!) The place is massive and can easily take a few hours to explore. This complex is much less crowded than Gyeongbokgung Palace, so it is much more pleasant to my liking (architecture wise if you aren't an anthropologist or historian - you'll see very little difference). It is said online that Secret Garden is by reservation only but lady at the entrance just waved us in once she saw us in hanboks. There is a vending machine for drinks at one place but Id recommend to take some water and even snacks with you. Tip: these palaces and Secret Garden are closed on Monday! Changdeokgung Secret Garden course -guided tour is required ,ticket can be purchased from its official website with allocated time slot.It is notorious for its unassuming beauty! Entrance of 10,000won would grant you access to all parts of the palace including the secret garden. It was a little dampening that the fall weather is somethings gloomy so the secret garden in my photo doesnt looks as alluring but the rest of areas are stunning especially the glass house looking which is known as the Great Glass House.( Looking like the crystal palace) This is actually the country’s first Victorian style greenhouse. Outside the greenhouse courtyard features a labyrinth style garden of neatly trimmed boxwood, that is so beautiful The palace even though is smaller than gyeongbokgung it is still quite big imo that you require a few hours to fully immerse in it and walking the different areas! Many people must have been to Changdeokgung Palace, but this is the first time I have been to the Secret Garden. Book a Guided Tour (available in Chinese, English, and Japanese) in advance on the official website. The tour guide gave a vivid introduction to the secret garden and also specifically pointed out the Korean drama shooting spots. In fact, really many are recognizable! 💖 There were many people wearing Korean clothes on the way, with the traditional backdrop of this garden, the cameras were busy!

#seoul I planned to visit Changdeokgung Palace early morning and I am happy I did. Early morning these sights are beautiful. Not yet crowded, you can admired it's architecture design and beautiful carvings. The pigeons on the ground were a plus. Lovely to them. I have spent a lot of hours here because I admired its intricate designs from the gates, to its roof tiles and to its buildings.

Since Gyeongbokgung is too mainstream, let me bring you to Changdeokgung this time. Its not just a palace, they also have secret garden at the backyard. It is so big, beautiful and less people because most people go to the main palace only and didn't know about their garden. The normal entrance ticket is 3,000₩ but if you want to go to garden, you need to book online (which is usually sold out fast) because of limited slot. #bucketlistreboot 🗺️📍Anguk Station (line3, exit 3), around 6 min walk. The Changdeokgung Palace is one of the most well-preserved royal palaces from the Joseon Dynasty. It was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage in 1997 and regarded as a Korean palace architecture masterpiece with buildings in perfect harmony with nature. My favourite part of the whole palace was the Secre Garden. There are many beautiful and well-preserved pavilion so that you can take it slow and immerse yourself in the nature. The whole compound is huge. So do wear comfortable shoes to walk around and enjoy the beautiful garden here.

Wow! I have never heard of this place. It's almost better than the grand palace. Great palace in Seoul. A real pleasant visit. Beautiful buildings. Less crowded. I would definitely recommend here. It also has a secret garden and another royal residence next door. So three places to visit. This might be the best palace in Seoul. Take Subway Line 3 and get off at Anguk Station. Take Exit 3 and walk for about 5 minutes to Donhwamun Gate, the main entrance of Changdeokgung Palace. When I visited in 2016, the entrance fee to Changdeokgung Palace was 3,000 won (approximately HK$21). Changdeokgung Palace attracts many Koreans wearing traditional clothes to take photos. Injeongjeon is the main hall of Changdeokgung Palace. It is the place where the North Korean king handles state affairs. Ceremonies such as enthronement and meetings with foreign envoys are also held here.

Dunhua Gate is a two-story gate and the entrance to Changdeokgung Palace. It used to be the palace before. When the It was the appearance of the year. The building is also very complete.
