How I found myself visiting Changdao Island was astonishing. I can’t say I regret visiting this place. It was an amazing experience I would rather dare to embark upon again and again. This island is one of the best in Shandong province China. Though a bit more expensive than other islands. It’s situated about 90km away from the yantai city. It requires a mini ship to get to this island. It cost 45 yuan per ride and it takes 40 minutes by mini-ship to arrive the Island. The second picture of this post is exactly where you get your ticket and board the ship. You could also get a hotel reservation online or better still get a place upon arrival. Hotel ranges from 250RMB including food. We were lucky to get a guest house for 300RMB including three square meals. We didn't book a tour guide as we had a Chinese friend with us. So, I will advise you to either go through a tour group or better still if you can speak better Chinese, then you are all good for the entire trip. There are over three beaches to visit but only one of them has an entrance fee. There are games and activities for tourists there. Be sure to specify which you intend to take part in and you will pay accordingly. One funny thing there is that, the locals always assume tourists has a lot of money therefore, they are willing to squeeze you dry.
