A different Chiang Mai trip, a day trip to hot springs outside Chiang Mai!! Now GO here
Are you planning a trip to Chiang Mai? I went on a hot spring trip for a day this time, and I totally recommend it! 💛
Usually, if you stay in Chiang Mai for 2-3 days, you can visit most of the tourist attractions. So I decided to spend a day at a hot spring to really heal myself. When you think of Chiang Mai hot springs, everyone thinks of San Kamphaeng, but I wanted to go somewhere different. So I chose Chae Son National Park in Lampang! It’s about a 2-hour drive from Chiang Mai. 🚗
(I recommend renting a Grab for a day, or you can take a train to Lampang and then take a Grab or Songthaew.)
We left early in the morning and arrived, and we only had to pay the entrance fee of 200 baht to enjoy the whole day. I bought eggs at the entrance and boiled them in the hot spring water to prepare to eat! 🍳 The rule here is to soak eggs in the hot spring water and wait. I also bought a coffee and started enjoying the hot spring in earnest. Soaking in warm hot spring water will make all your fatigue disappear. 😌
A mat is a must when you go here! When you rest in the hot spring, you need a place to lie down and rest for a while. And a really good point! Not only the hot spring, but also the stream water flows next to it, so if you get hot, you can get in right away! 💦 The stream water is cool, so it was really nice to take turns playing in the water.
I had a quick lunch at a restaurant inside the national park. Then, I ate eggs, soaked my feet, sweated, and played for a long time in the hot spring. But that's not the end! I also went to a private hot spring bath for a more special experience. 😆
You can use the private hot spring bath here for 50 baht, and you can rent a towel for about 20 baht. That's why it's really good! The private bath at San Kamphaeng Hot Spring is just like a bathroom with a bathtub, but this one is completely different! They give you a private hot spring bath that looks like a small pool, and 2 people can go in together. There's also a shower facility next to it, so it was easy to wash up.
Things to prepare in advance! ✔ Towel (if you don't bring one, you have to rent it for 20 baht)
✔ Shampoo, body wash (there is a shower facility in the hot spring!)
✔ Water or drinks (perfect for drinking in the hot spring)
There is no time limit, so you can stay as long as you want! I rested for about an hour. Totally healing time! 😍
After leaving the hot spring, I went back to the valley and finished by soaking my feet. The water was cool, so it felt like the heat of the hot spring had completely gone down.
If a day trip is burdensome, I recommend staying overnight in Lampang!
I liked this place so much that I went there twice. If you really visit Chiang Mai, you should definitely go there. Totally recommended! 💛
If you want to heal for a day during your trip to Chiang Mai? I highly recommend the Chae Son National Park hot spring!
