500 years of Christianity
Unlike many other cathedrals and churches in Cebu that provide a glimpse into Filipino culture, the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral places a greater emphasis on the city's religious history. This cathedral, in particular, serves as a historical reminder of how Christianity came to have such deep roots in a country where the previous faith had stronger ties to Hinduism and Buddhism.
Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral is a refreshing change of pace from other tourist attractions because it is less well-known. You can meander through the church at your leisure, admiring the magnificent architecture. You can even attend Sunday church, where you'll be greeted with friendly "hellos" and smiles from local Filipinos who will be pleasantly astonished to see you.

The Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral is usually where some artists do their wedding. Aside that it is one of the most beautiful Church in the city, it also can accommodate a lot of people inside. The Church had already made some beautifications with its surrounding. Inside is just truly captivating and remarkable.

The Metropolitan Cathedral is a well-known wedding destination in the small town of Cebu. This church is a Spanish colonial Catholic church. The entire church is situated in a beautiful courtyard, strolling through it, as if walking in a well-tended garden. The white appearance of the church is pure and sacred.
The Cathedral of the Holy Baby, passing through the winding streets of Cebu's Old Town, is a 10-minute walk to the church that is also popular in the area. On the outskirts of the church, a beautiful courtyard was enclosed by a fence. In the middle of the courtyard surrounded by trees, there is a statue of a goddess holding a cross, surrounded by seats for tourists to rest, the beautiful environment is intoxicating. The white metropolitan church is situated in this beautiful courtyard.
Walk into the interior of the church, it is even more shocked by the golden hall and the rich colors of the period. On the front of the hall, several huge stone pillars are distributed on both sides, and many wooden seats are arranged in order. Inside the side halls, there are many statues of prophets. Although they are different in shape, they are all very realistic.
There are always local believers in the church, bowing to the main entrance of the hall, sitting quietly in the seat, silently praying, praying, the silence inside the church, the sacred scene is still moving;
If time is sufficient, the metropolitan church at night will shine with golden light and become more charming. With a bright moonlight, strolling in the garden in front of the church and admiring the night view of the cathedral is quite a For unforgettable memories.

A great Cathedral if you want to see religious site architecture within few minutes you'll reach. Well-kept and clean church as much as they can do and still welcomes its guest at a great condition. One of the most beautiful churches in Cebu City that I have visited at the centre of the old city. The well maintained and clean cathedral shows historical past, blends with the historic community.

✅The Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral🇵🇭
🌟🌟Very nice place to see the old history of Cebu! 🇵🇭
⛪Officially known as the Metropolitan Cathedral and Parish of Saint Vitalis and of the Immaculate Conception (dedicated to Mary, under her title, Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception and to Saint Vitalis of Milan), is the ecclesiastical seat of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Cebu in Cebu, Philippines. Cebu was established as a diocese on August 14, 1595. It was elevated as a metropolitan archdiocese on April 28, 1934, with the dioceses of Dumaguete, Maasin, Tagbilaran, and Talibon as suffragans. Before being raised as a primatial ⛪church in Cebu, the church was one of the first churches in the Philippines🇵🇭 (besides the Basilica del Santo Niño) dedicated to St. Vitalis and built near the fort in April 1565 by Miguel Lopez de Legazpi.
🚧Construction of the cathedral was halted many times over the centuries due to lack of funds. It was not completed until the early 1900s. It was partially destroyed by Allied bombings during World War II 💣before being rebuilt in the 1950s. Notice that its squat shape and thick walls help to protect damage from typhoons and other natural disasters.
📍Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral is in the San Roque neighborhood in the southeastern part of the city.
🚌Ride a bus or jeepney to the Plaridel St. stop, which is just west of the church⛪. Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral is a must-visit 🌟 for those interested in Cebu’s cultural heritage🇵🇭.
Visit nearby sights, such as the 1️⃣Minor Basilica of the Holy Child,2️⃣ the Plaza Independencia and 3️⃣the University of Cebu.

CEBU METROPOLITAN CATHEDRAL 💒
One of the oldest churches in the Cebu province is the Metropolitan Cathedral. Located in downtown Cebu, it is just a walking distance to Basilica Minore Sto. Niño. Moreso, it houses its collection of Catholic antiques in its very own Cathedral Museum.

Just as beautiful and moving as the basilica, do not pass up a visit to the cathedral, which is right near by. Also enjoy the market around both buildings. Architecture buffs will certainly have their curiosity tested. For the me connection between the Philippines and Mexico is more evident here than that between the Philippines and Spain. #wintergetaway
