Famous Filming Location in New Zealand

Castle Hill is the filming location for both "Lord of the Rings" and “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe”.
Castle Hill is located next to Arthur’s Pass and was given its name because the limestone boulders look like a run-down medieval stone castle. There isn't any big castle! The boulders are huge and you will feel tiny. It is amazing to see theae natural wonders. The site is accessible via the highway, there are quite many people in the afternoon. When I was there, I saw school children visiting too! So I recommend coming early in the morning and you can have pictures without the crowd.
Allow 2-3 hours to explore and fully immerse yourself in the beauty.
