🇵🇭🔝Casa Corordo museum
The museum is well-adorned and interesting to visit.👍
Casa Gorordo is a house museum located in the historic Parian district of Cebu, the oldest city in the Philippines. It is owned and managed by the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) under its Culture & Heritage focus area. The house was acquired by RAFI from the Gorordo family in 1979, renovated and enhanced, and opened to the public as a museum in 1983. In recognition of its historical and social significance, the National Historical Institute (now the National Historical Commission of the Philippines) conferred on Casa Gorordo Museum the title “National Historical Landmark” in 1991."
Built in the 1850's, it lived through several important social changes that shaped modern Filipino identity. Casa Gorordo Museum is notable for being the residence of Juan Gorordo, the first native bishop of Cebu. 🎨Some items displayed in the house include wooden carvings, kitchen utensils, household items, art collections and clothes.
Visitors are provided with tablets that guide them through the different rooms of the two-story house.
🔝The place itself is pretty outside and inside. Would recommend this place!✅

A Mid-19th Century House in Cebu
As a first time solo traveller, one of my must-go-to itinerary was to visit a museum.
Since Cebu is a very old city, there are a lot of historical sites there. I initially planned to go to different museums, but due to time constraint, I was only able to go to one place, the Casa Gorordo Museum.
Being inside Casa Gorordo showed me how rich families lived during the mid-19th century. I actually looked at each artifact there very closely and was amazed that most were really well-maintained. The basement was like a real museum with displays of different things used back in the days. The Upper floor is still set up like an actual house, with differemt rooms organized like how it was in the 1850s.
When you visit, there is actually an option to get a tour guide, but I did not get one because I preferred to observe things on my own. And I honestly enjoyed myself there.
Probably won't be back again in the near future because I already checked everything during my tour, but I would recommend it to people I know to visit the place when they go to Cebu.

CASA GORORDO at Eduardo Aboitiz Street
Casa Gorordo is a house museum located in the historic Parian area. The entrance fee is only 100.00 pesos and the tour guide is for only 150.00. During our visit we didn’t avail the tour guide instead they provided us with a tablet. The tablet is used as information guide for every station of the house museum. The house is already rehabilitated but the historical feeling/features is still in there. We are very amazed to see the lifestyle of the family and the Cebuano culture the ancestral house showcased. After the tour we checked out to their Casa Gorordo Museum Shop for some souvenirs. They also offer local coffee at the museum by Bo’s Coffee, you can hangout there until 7pm. However the museum will closed at 5pm. I enjoyed my visit and would recommend to you. #Casagorordo #cebucity #sugboph

CASA GORORDO MUSEUM ✨
If you want to witness the traditional "Bahay na Bato" pf the Philippines, this is where you will go. Casa Gorordo is home to the antiques of the past Archbishop of Cebu. It is still complete from the old frame of the house, to the furnitures, and finally the clothings of the previous owner. It is a museum that will take you back to the 1800s.

It was a good experienced the museum building is a fine example of a bahay-na-bato. The museum columns, dating to the mid-18th century, are hardwood trunks that support wide hardwood flooring planks in the second storey. The 2nd story has wooden walls and windows made of wood and Capiz shells. #wintergetaway
