Beneath the apse lies the crypt of Saint Celerinus, which includes a small chapel with a trefoil apse. The old entrance has been sealed with wooden planks, and the current door was opened in the 17th century. The structure follows a Romanesque style, alternating rows of stone and brick. The central window of the apse is a brick-built cross arch. The apse preserves pre-Romanesque frescoes depicting Christ surrounded by angels, with the Twelve Apostles below.
