The Hok Tsui Marine Reserve is located at the southeastern tip of Hong Kong Island. Its eastern boundary extends from Shuang Si Men to the eastern shore of Hok Tsui, and then southwards to the southeastern tip of Kau Bi Chau. The headland extends to the southern end of Goubizhou. The purpose of setting up coastal protected areas is to protect marine resources and scientific research, and to educate the public to care for the precious marine resources. In order to protect the important creatures and their environment in the coastal reserve, except for permitted scientific research activities, general aquatic and coastal recreational activities, such as swimming, boating, fishing or collecting wild animals and plants, are not allowed to be carried out in the coastal reserve . Four main rock types can be found around the Hok Tsui Coastal Reserve. According to the age of rock formation, the oldest is tuff formed by volcanic eruptions, followed by granodiorite, rhyolite porphyry and basalt. In terms of geomorphology, there are rocky shores hit by wind and waves in the coastal reserve, which is a common landform on promontories and headlands in the southeast of Hong Kong. The steeply sloping granite banks are rugged and irregular stone steps, with vertical planes up to one meter high, and small rock sheds, which will form temporary small pools if the sea surges. The biodiversity in the Hok Tsui Marine Reserve is quite rich, including a variety of fish, stony corals, soft corals, gorgonians and marine invertebrates. Hok Tsui Coastal Reserve is known as the "eye of God" as a holy place for Internet celebrities to take pictures.
