Prayer byodoin temple
Uji
Byodoin
Located in Uji, Kyoto, it is a world cultural heritage. In 1052 AD, at the beginning of the Dharma Ending Period in Japan, Pure Land belief became popular. Fujiwara no Yorimichi converted his villa into a Buddhist temple and established Amida Hall, now Phoenix Hall, the following year.
The remains of the Heian period are reflected in the A-shaped pond in front of the hall, just like the engraving on the front of the ten-yen bill, which still shines brightly under the sunlight.
In a chaotic era, people once believed
"Believe in Amitabha Buddha and pray for rebirth in paradise"
There are many teahouses along Omotesando. The cool autumn air carries a hint of chill. Why not go in and sip a cup of hot tea to savor the tranquility and elegance of the tea ceremony?
