When you think of Bras Basah Complex, printing shops and art supplies will come to your mind. But did you know that there is a bakery located there!
The cafe and bakehouse serve different kinds of pastries such as croissants, tarts and coffee! I tried their signature Kani Mentaiko Crossaint and Pain Au Chocolat. Would love to try their tarts and coffee the next time I’m there!
Did I tell you that this bakery is Muslim owned? So our Muslims friends can try this bakery too.

Explore Singapore's hidden gem known as "Book City
#bookstoresandgalleries
Calling book lovers and culture enthusiasts!!!
Bras Basah Complex, also known as "Book City," is a hidden gem in Singapore where a rich collection of bookstores and art shops await.
This iconic complex, built in the 1980s, retains its original charm with a five-story layout filled with bookstores and shops.
In its heyday, the complex was bustling with bookstores. Though the popularity of physical bookstores has waned over time, the complex has evolved to host a variety of literary and art shops, with the National Library just next door. It's a haven for culture enthusiasts, offering not just books but also art exhibitions, paintings, and more.
If you’re on the hunt for Chinese books like I was, you'll find plenty of unique titles at great prices, especially second-hand ones.
Highly recommended🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

New Japanese-inspired cafe in Bras Basah
Address: 231 Bain Street, Bras Basah Complex, #01-75, Singapore 180231
Operating Hours: 10am - 6pm (Tue to Sun), Closed on Mon
There are many cafes in this Civic District area and GAMO is a new kid on the block. Located at the Bras Basah Complex, its interior and decoration makes itself stand out among the book stores and printing store.
The cafe was opened recently and the glass facade makes it so inviting. The Japanese-inspired theme also shows in the decoration and the minimalistic style of the cafe.
As a baker, I can tell you this is good quality of croissants and viennoiseries. My first choice is always Pan Au Suisse (which is shaped differently compared to normal croissants).
Do drop by if you are around the area.

This complex is actually builded way back in the 1980s and a stone throw away from Bugis MRT. One of the few complex that is outdoor shopping but shops located within some are equipped with air conditioning.
