Our recent 4-day trip to Berlin was an amazing blend of history, culture, and culinary discoveries. Starting at Brandenburg Gate, we were captivated by its iconic beauty—especially stunning when illuminated at night. Checkpoint Charlie offered a sombre look into Berlin’s divided past, making it a surreal experience to stand where history unfolded. Museum Island was a cultural gem, with each museum housing unique artefacts. The Berlin Cathedral (Berliner Dom) was especially memorable, with breathtaking architecture and spectacular views over the city from its dome. Exploring Kurfürstendamm (Ku’damm) showed us Berlin’s modern, vibrant side, filled with lively cafes, shops, and a bustling atmosphere. East Side Gallery was a highlight, with each mural along the former Berlin Wall telling a moving story—a true tribute to freedom and artistic expression. We also had some excellent dining experiences. For breakfast, Croissants and More offered delicious, affordable options, while Café Minouche served up a delightful breakfast, perfect for starting our day. For dinner, Indian Village had some of the best Indian food we've had, with rich, authentic flavours, while Baba Pirzola was another fantastic find, offering a great meal and friendly atmosphere. I started at the Brandenburg Gate, which is free to visit and surrounded by colorful foliage this time of year. Walking down Unter den Linden, with the leaves falling around me, felt almost magical. I also visited the Reichstag building, which has free entry to the dome if you book in advance. The view from the top was breathtaking, especially with the city dressed in autumn colors. Later, I strolled through Tiergarten, where the paths are beautifully blanketed with fallen leaves. It stands in between Pariser Platz and Platz des 18. After World War II, Berlin was divided onto east and west and this gate was set as the border between the two, and a wall was erected in 1961 to separate both territories. In the 1989 revolutions, pedestrians can be seen standing on top of the wall to demand the tearing of it as part of the reunification process. The Gate was accessible by cars in the 90s but was pedestrianized in 2005. Today, this gate is seen as a symbol of peace and unity as well as the rememberence of the tumultuous histories of Germany and Europe.

Germany 🇩🇪 Brandenburg Gate I would like to share a free parking spot in Berlin, the capital of Germany. It is on June 17th Avenue in front of the Brandenburg Gate. There are free parking spaces on both sides. Only the front section is a parking space for buses. Inquire about anything else. You can park your car if you pass the police. The Brandenburg Gate is also known as Berlin's Triumphal Arch to commemorate Prussia's victory in the Seven Years' War. It was also the original boundary that separated East and West Germany. It was not opened again until the Soviet Union collapsed and the Berlin Wall was dismantled. The Unter den Linden Avenue at the back is lined with government departments, consulates of various countries, and is also the place leading to Berlin's main attractions. Germany 🇩🇪 Brandenburg Gate In Berlin, you can find free parking spaces along the June 17 Avenue right in front of the Brandenburg Gate. This iconic gate, akin to Berlin's Arc de Triomphe, symbolized the division between East and West Germany until the fall of the Berlin Wall. Built in the 18th century, the Brandenburg Gate is the only remaining town gate left, of which was where people in the olden days used to enter Berlin from. There are a lot of visitors around the gate taking photos. There are also some with a tour guide explaining the story of the gate. Even so, it does not feel crowded as most visitors do not stay long.

I was here in Berlin, Germany in May 2023 and decided to visit the famous Brandenburg Gate. It is a very beautiful historical architecture. It is easy to reach this place as there is an underground subway that bring ur here directly. There are also a few souvenirs shops along the street as well as a few outdoor eatery.
