Stirling is less than an hour by train from Edinburgh which makes it a perfect city for day trip. The main attraction in Stirling is indeed Stirling Castle- built in the 13th century, and is one of the grandest castle in Scotland. From the train station, it will take about 15 min to walk uphill to reach the castle. The castle was strategically built on top of a large rock which allowed for excellent view during the many wars through the centuries. You can see as far a field as Loch Lomond and there is map to show you all the areas you are looking at. Didn’t get a chance to go up the tower as it was closed by the time we got there, but still well worth the effort of walking up to the tower.

Stirling is a small town near Edinburgh. I didnt plan to go there. Frankly, I stop at the town just for saving money. the hotel fee at Edinburgh is so expensive. However, unexpectly, the wallace monument is so attractive more than I have expected. I have read the story of william wallace long time ago. when I arrived the monument, I recalled the story of wallaces, which is so touch and encouraging. I am very happy to be there.
