I stopped by Taga Shrine on a trip to Fukuoka!
The date of the founding of Taga Shrine is a mystery, but according to the ancient legends stored at the shrine, it is an old shrine that dates back to the time of Izanagi-no-Okami and Izanami-no-Okami, who are written about in the Kojiki.
It is famous as a god of longevity, and a god of calming the soul and warding off evil, and enshrines two gods, Izanami-no-Okami (male god) and Izanami-no-Okami (female god).
These husband and wife gods are the parents of Amaterasu-Omikami, who created the land, mountains, rivers, plants, and trees of Japan and gave birth to the eight million gods.
Apparently 4/11, 12 and 13 are peach festivals
Especially on the weekends, there are peach sweets and rice cakes to ward off evil 🍑
It's a little early, but I went to see the flower water fountain 🎀
I love purple, so I was excited because it was so pretty!
There were lots of peach blossoms in bloom ♡
I hope I can go again 🙏
