[2025 Longling ] Travel Guide for Best in the World Fir (Updated May)

Drive 12 kilometers northeast from Longling County, County Road 193 winds through the layers of tea mountains, and suddenly sees white mist rising from the valley. Banglazhang Hot Spring is hidden in the folds covered by primitive vegetation. This is not a hot spring resort in the traditional sense, but an ecological theater carved by geothermal nature. The springs are naturally distributed along the stream, and the 16 springs present a temperature ladder from 38℃ to 96℃, forming a natural "geothermal museum". The most distinctive feature is the travertine terrace formed by the deposition of spring calcite, with ochre-red and milky-white textures, and the spring water flows out miniature waterfalls on the moss-covered rocks. Visitors can follow the wooden plank road to explore different spring pools, experience the wild fun of alternating hot and cold baths under the shade of ancient walnut trees, or observe the abstract paintings drawn by sulfur crystals on the rock walls in the morning mist. In addition to the hot spring experience, the 3-kilometer forest trail connects multiple geological observation points: volcanic rock columnar joints, ancient geothermal vent sites, and potholes formed by stream erosion. In the rainy season, you can also encounter the spectacle of a double rainbow hanging in the valley at the viewing platform at the end of the trail. The ecological teahouse run by local Lisu villagers provides thunder tea slowly simmered with hot spring water, accompanied by tea snacks made from wild dendrobium flowers, adding a wild flavor to the hot spring trip.
