#chinatrip We spent half a day exploring Beitou district while travelling to Taipei and this is such a quiet and serene destination to visit! It is just a 30minutes train ride from Taipei Main Station via red line, which is an easily accessible and reachable destination. We then took another train ride to Xinbeitou station which is nearer to all of the touristy spots. Famous for its natural wonder of hot springs, the Beitou district is full of hot springs resorts, public baths and even museum dedicated for hot springs culture, such a unique place to visit. Would recommend to spend a night at their hot spring resort, especially during winter. Some of the popular destination that we visit include the Beitou Park, Beitou hot spring museum, Thermal Valley and the beautiful Beitou library. The district is filled with lush greeneries and is really calm and slow paced! Lovely place to visit!

You can take the 108 bus (circular mountain bus) from the Yangmingshan bus terminal, but pay attention to the schedule as there are not many buses. ♨️ Beitou Hot Springs: Yangmingshan is an active volcano with abundant geothermal resources. The hot springs in the Beitou area are natural green sulfur springs, which are said to contain trace amounts of radium and have healing effects, one of only two in the world. A large amount of sulfur vapor spews from the ground, accompanied by boiling and erupting spring water, making a hissing sound, a spectacular scene. 🏢 Taipei 101: After the tour, I checked in at several classic spots of Taipei 101. 1⃣ Takeuchi Izakaya (Pic 12-13), walk south for 10 minutes from Exit 2 of the Xiangshan MRT station to compress the towering skyscraper and old house into one picture, creating a beauty of old and new integration. 2⃣ Xiangshan (Pic 14-16), enter the mountain from the 'Xiangshan Trail' entrance on Google Maps, choose the right path at the first fork, and reach the photography platform in 15 minutes. But it is recommended to continue walking up for 10 minutes to the Six Giant Rocks viewing platform, where the view is more open. The mountain trail is all stone steps with handrails and street lights, making climbing effortless.

I really appreciated this museum because they have English explanations on all sections, because I don't read any Mandarin. This place literally look like a real onsen places where you can sit on the stool to take photos. #weekendgetaways 📍Beitou Hot Spring Museum, Taipei Decided to take a half day trip to BeiTou which is famous for their hot springs, and it was such a great decision! We visited their hot spring museum, which is nearby the New BeiTou station! It is such a well built and nice museum, explaining the history and cultures of the hot springs in Taipei. There is no entrance fee required, and it was giving some vibes as it we were about to go to hot springs, with the in house slippers, the wide straw mat seating area, the small benches. There are a few sections in the museum, very instagramable and interesting. Lovely place to spend some time!

【Business Hours】 10:00〜18:00 【Admission】 Free 【Atmosphere and Facilities】 The museum allows visitors to freely explore using slippers (provided for loan). There is a large tatami room with fans installed, which can also be used for resting. I wasn't born in the Showa period, so I can't know for sure, but the exhibits, buildings, and presentations somehow evoke that era's ambiance. 【Highlights】 The stained glass windows beside the former main bath area are very beautiful and impressive. 【Points to Note】 When I visited before 11 am, there was a long line of group bus tour visitors. After spending about an hour strolling around and killing time before revisiting, it was less crowded, so perhaps there are fewer groups around lunchtime.
