Beijian Bridge is located in Xiaqiao Village, Sixi Town. It is named after it crosses the Beixi River and is known as "the most beautiful covered bridge in the world". The bridge has palace-style double eaves, exquisite structure and simple shape. It was built in the thirteenth year of Emperor Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1675), and has been rebuilt for 6 times. The bridge is 51.07 meters long, 5.39 meters wide and 11.22 meters high, with 20 bridge houses and 84 bridge columns. The bridge deck floor is all reinforced with two layers of one-inch thick planks. The east end of the bridge is called "Qiaotou" by the locals. The terrain is higher, with 16 stone steps; the west head is called "Qiaowei" with lower terrain and 26 stone steps. After crossing the long cobblestone road, we came to the Beijian Bridge. The two towering ancient trees standing on the bridge head cover the covered bridge and the houses. The ridged beasts on the eaves of the covered bridge and the hanging fish on the mountain flowers of the houses are looming in the swaying branches and leaves. A path branched off from the side of the cobblestone road and extended across the stream by a small flagstone bridge. Watching the Beijian Bridge with blue tiles and red body on the wide stream beach, as if you are in an ancient Song painting, you can experience the beauty of people swimming in the painting!
