Beiguan was originally a checkpoint in the Manchu and Qing Dynasties. In view of the terrain of this place during the Jiaqing period, in order to prevent bandits from entering the pass of Yilan, a garrison checkpoint was requested. There are two ancient cannons standing in the park, which are said to be antiques cast during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. In the park, there are natural stone and rock landscapes such as single-sided mountain, tofu rock, and small cape that have been washed for thousands of years. In the confrontation between the boulders and the mountains, there are stairs, footpaths and sea-viewing gardens, and the garden shows the wonders of the seaside. Looking south from the observation platform, you can see Guishan Island and Lanyang Plain in the distance, and when you look up close, you can see the waves crashing on the shore. The Guanhai Pavilion offers a clear view of Guishan Island, Wai'ao and other seascapes, as well as the panoramic view of Beiguan. Standing on the Guanhai Pavilion, you can see the beautiful scenery of Kuyu Island from a distance, and watch the shocking waves crashing on the shore. Especially at high tide or sunrise, it is a good time to visit Beiguan. The faces of the two ancient cannons cast during the Jiaqing period are standing on the sea and have a history of more than 160 years. They add an ancient meaning to the old cannons and add a little ancient flavor to Beiguan.
