Empty temple
In Wuhan District of Changzhou there’s a newly built temple. A nice place to have a walk around, no people and no ticket booths to get inside. Even though it’s newly built, it’s nice from the outside and inside as well. The autumn trees gave it a good look too. If you have an hour or 2 in Changzhou, you should definitely check it out.

Baolin Buddhist Temple
This is a wonderfully unique and stunningly beautiful temple, in Changzhou in China. The temple is shaped like a giant pineapple, encrusted with thousands of miniature, golden Buddha’s which adorn the outer building, and also the inside walls. The colors of the statue inside and the light coming from the sealing, are sublime with pinks, purples, gold, and turquoise. There are white, stone carvings of dragons surrounding/ protecting the temple and leading up the stairs to the main entrance. The surrounding river is bursting with lotus plants and the trees cascade along the bank. The temple is peaceful, just off the bustling main city, and is a fantastic place to visit due to it’s serenity and it’s distinct and truly unique architecture.

Changzhou's "Golden Pineapple" - Baolin Zen Temple.
Changzhou Baolin Zen Temple: Exquisite "Big Pineapple" Baolin Zen Temple was built in the eighth year of the Datong period of the Southern Liang Dynasty (527 AD) as a royal temple built by Emperor Wu of Liang, Xiao Yan. It was named after the "Pure Land Forest, Seven Treasures in a Row" in the Lotus Sutra. Emperor Xiaomin of the Northern Zhou Dynasty rebuilt Baolin Temple and renamed it "Fahua Temple." The temple was already famous during the Southern and Northern Dynasties. It was destroyed by war during the Chongning period of the Northern Song Dynasty, rebuilt during the Ming Dynasty, and restored to the name Baolin Temple. It was destroyed again during the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom period of the Qing Dynasty, and by 1949, only 30 halls remained.
[Mosque]In 1958, Baolin Temple was demolished, leaving only three temple houses used as warehouses. The main temple is surrounded by other smaller temples and inside are statues of the Buddha and his followers and enlighteners.
