Bao Dai’s Summer Palace - Dalat, Vietnam
Bao Dai Palace was built in 1933 as the summer residence of the last emperor of Vietnam. When the country became socialist, as well as during the war with the Americans, it was used in various ways, even as a general staff. Currently, the Bao Dai Palace is a house-museum that anyone can visit. Here, the interior arrangement of the palace, as it was under the emperor (until 1945), has been preserved to the smallest detail: tables, chairs, cabinets, sofas, armchairs and other interior items, a kitchen, a reception room, a bathroom, a toilet.
The residence is located on a hill overlooking the city. Around the palace there is a small park, which is maintained daily by several gardeners.
The two-story mansion, where the ruler's family lived with their children, has 25 rooms. In our opinion, this is one of the most interesting sights of Dalat.

Lifestyle of the Vietnamese Royalty
This is an interesting place to see how the Vietnamese royalty lived during the occupation. It's a smaller palace than others, but it's historical significance can't be ignored.

Dalat: Vietnam's Enchanting Highlands Retreat
#vietnamtrip
Dalat, nestled in the picturesque Central Highlands of Vietnam, is a gem waiting to be discovered by travelers seeking a unique blend of natural beauty, cool climate, and French colonial charm.
Known as the "City of Eternal Spring," Dalat boasts a pleasantly cool climate year-round, making it a refreshing escape from Vietnam's tropical heat. The city is dotted with elegant French villas, manicured gardens, and serene lakes, creating a romantic and nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of a European countryside.
One of Dalat's highlights is its stunning natural landscapes. The surrounding hills are adorned with lush pine forests, flower gardens, and cascading waterfalls such as the majestic Datanla Falls and the picturesque Pongour Falls. Visitors can explore these natural wonders on foot, by bike, or even on the back of a gentle elephant.
Dalat is also famous for its agricultural produce, with vast flower farms and thriving coffee plantations dotting the countryside. The vibrant Central Market offers a sensory delight with its colorful array of fresh fruits, vegetables, and local delicacies.
Culturally, Dalat is rich with history and traditions. The Linh Phuoc Pagoda, adorned with intricate mosaic artwork, and the Bao Dai Summer Palace, once the retreat of Vietnam's last emperor, are notable landmarks that offer glimpses into the city's past.
Whether you're strolling through flower gardens, exploring waterfalls, savoring local cuisine, or simply enjoying the cool mountain air, Dalat promises a tranquil and rejuvenating experience unlike any other in Vietnam. It's a destination that captivates with its natural beauty, cultural richness, and serene ambiance, making it a must-visit for travelers seeking a refreshing retreat in Southeast Asia.

For these 12 pictures, I specifically flew to the fairy tale town in Vietnam
If there is a fairy tale world in the world, it must be Dalat in Vietnam.
Dalat is located in the central highlands of southern Vietnam,
It was a summer resort for the French,
They came here to escape the heat of Saigon and built a large number of holiday apartments, making this town full of European style.
The current Dalat still retains the charm of the colony,
The town is dotted with elegant French architecture,
The surrounding farms are lush strawberry gardens and flowers, which are very beautiful.

🛵The city of Dalat is not big, it's very comfortable to walk slowly, and it's very cozy to sit in a street cafe when you're tired; the distance between the attractions is not far, you can take a grab taxi very conveniently, or rent a motorbike or bicycle.

🚌Dalat is about 6 hours away from Saigon, about 5 hours from Mina, and about 7 hours from Nha Trang. There are many buses. Although the mountain road to Dalat is eighteen bends, it is really worth it.

Bao Dai Summer Palace, Dalat | Vietnam
Emperor Bao Dai's Summer Palace
Another interesting tourist attraction in Dalat is popular among Vietnamese and foreign tourists.
This Summer Palace is one of the three palaces of Emperor Bao Dai, the last emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty (the last dynasty before the change of government in Vietnam). Bao Dai Palace took 5 years to build, starting in 1933. It consists of 3 imperial buildings, with Dinh 3 being the most famous and visited spot.

Dalat Palace No. 3, which is the Baoda Summer Palace, is currently the only open palace. Built in 1933, the palace was the summer residence of the last emperor of Vietnam. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, although the exterior is not eye-catching, the interior is extremely luxurious. The entire summer palace is a walled courtyard with a light yellow flat-top masonry structure on two floors with clear lines. The indoor equipment, including furniture and bedding, remained intact, and the flower arrangement on the table remained fresh, but many corners of the room leaked traces of time, reminding you of the passing time.
