A great place for a weekend getaway from Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang, hidden away in the bamboo forest. This hotel in Anji is also a filming location for "The Story of Chenghuan," a very beautiful Banyan Tree. The hotel design is very beautiful, with the elegance and restraint of Suzhou-style architecture and the primitive simplicity of Huizhou-style architecture. The wooden structure blends with the natural landscape, presenting the simplicity of Huizhou-style wooden structures and the style of Ming Dynasty homes. Every step offers a different view, especially the top floor of the main building, which offers a view of the rolling green hills. It's even more atmospheric on rainy days, with the romance of the misty rain of Jiangnan! The rooms are also very nice, the breakfast is very rich, and there are masters practicing Baduanjin outside. The hotel's infinity pool is also super beautiful. With autumn and winter approaching, it's a great time to soak in the private hot springs and enjoy the beautiful autumn scenery.

The Anji Banyan Tree has mixed reviews, but it's quite famous, so I wanted to check it out. My sister and I drove 3 hours from Shanghai with our kids. The hotel has some room for improvement and the service isn't great, but the environment is good for kids. It's a family-friendly hotel. I've been watching "Chenghuanji" recently and saw that they filmed at the Yueda Resort here. 🛏️We stayed in two types of rooms: a lake view suite and a courtyard villa🏠. The lake view suite has a super long balcony that I loved😻! But the living room furniture is a bit old. Other than the balcony, everything else was just average. The kids had fun in the courtyard villa. The private hot spring pool kept them entertained for a long time. Unfortunately, we didn't get to stay in a family room. We'll have to try it next time. 🫧Family activities: The hotel offers horse riding and paid feeding. There are also paid craft activities (only from 1pm to 3pm) and a bubble party (the first time I've seen a paid bubble party). Our kids were too young to participate in the activities, so we just played in the hotel and ran around outside. 🥖Hotel breakfast: The breakfast isn't great, but they have all the basics. 🏊Pool: There's an outdoor pool and an indoor pool. I love Banyan Tree Anji I felt like I'd been here before as soon as I walked in. Turns out it was a filming location for the TV show "Cheng Huan Ji". Scenery: No need to say, every photo is a masterpiece. Service: The lady at check-in was very gentle, the shuttle bus driver was very handsome, and the turndown service was very thoughtful. The Thai restaurant is also where breakfast is served. The waiter was a bit nervous and spilled a bit of soup. The restaurant manager saw and immediately arranged for the kitchen to make another one. My child was bitten by a mosquito and the waitress immediately brought a mosquito repellent patch. It felt both professional and warm. Breakfast had a wide variety and tasted great, especially the mini roujiamo, which was cute and delicious. The hotel also has a place to watch fireflies, but it's a bit expensive. The only free activity in the hotel is the Baduanjin qigong at 5 or 6 in the morning. There's also horse riding for children, which is also not cheap. Anji is a hidden gem and a great place to visit. It's surrounded by mountains and bamboo forests, making it a great place for couples, families, and friends from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai. Banyan Tree Anji has a beautiful infinity pool. The hotel has buildings and courtyards. I personally recommend choosing a lake view room. You can overlook the lake from the room or the balcony. The courtyard has a private hot spring pool and swimming pool. You can enjoy the beautiful view while taking a bath. Banyan Tree Anji has 2 restaurants, a Chinese restaurant (Baiyun) and a Thai restaurant (Shangfang). They offer delicious Jiangnan cuisine and Thai dishes. Ingenious and rustic, neat and natural, a delicate balance is sought between the mountains and waters. Every year, I choose to travel to Anji, which is less than a 3-hour drive away. Having visited several Banyan Tree resorts, Anji remains one of my favorites, mainly because I really like its infinity pool. The service is much better than other hotels, contrary to what some online reviews might suggest, and it feels like it's improving. This time I booked a lake-view room, which felt more open than a garden-view room, probably because I like water, which made me feel particularly relaxed. Sitting on the balcony snacking on some treats, I felt I could daydream for a long time. However, a garden-view is also a great choice; facing the garden, one can naturally find tranquility. After all, the landscape design of Banyan Tree Anji is well-measured and deeply resonates with my preferences. Regarding dining, compared to the Thai restaurant, I prefer the taste of the Chinese restaurant, which seems to have more of the local flavor, especially the recommended local specialty fish head stew. There were many choices for breakfast, and they were all beautifully presented. The overall experience was very good, even the shuttle concierge was great at making conversation. Although it was with a sales intent, it was cute and comfortable. It's a great destination for family trips.
