Cycling and 'lung washing' at the 'Bangkok Green Lung'!
🚴Today, I organized a cycling team with some friends!
At Bang Kachao, known as the 'Bangkok Green Lung' located in the southern part of Bangkok in Phra Pradaeng, we experienced a suburban 'lung washing' trip!
This is a man-made island formed by the bends of the Chao Phraya River and the western canal. In 1977, it was established as a natural ecological reserve by the Thai government's decree.🏝️
The island is surrounded by the Chao Phraya River, with crisscrossing rivers and swaying coconut groves, lush mangroves, and home to hundreds of bird species, making it very suitable for cycling to fully appreciate the natural and cultural landscape of the wetlands!
This oasis not only provides fresh air for the surrounding residents but also effectively regulates the urban climate and mitigates the heat island effect. It is also an important natural resource that is under strict protection.💦
Here's a recommended 2-3 hour experience route:
1️⃣Bangkok Tree House, a very distinctive place where you can dine, drink, relax, and if you like being close to nature, there are ten rooms available for accommodation.🏠
2️⃣House of Aromatic Joss Stick, where you can try tie-dyeing and candle making, starting at 150 Thai Baht, very suitable for friends who like handicrafts.🕯️
3️⃣Bang Nam Pheung Floating Market, Thailand's floating markets are definitely a cultural feature worth experiencing, open only on weekends.⛵️ There is also a beautiful temple nearby.
4️⃣Wat Bang kor bua, where you can view Bangkok's bustling scenery from across the river, and occasionally see speedboats and yachts🚤 gliding across the water, the view is fantastic!
