E-Tong Hill Jai, E-Tong Village, Pilok, Kanchanaburi
Hello everyone! Today, we will take you to heal your heart at E-Tong Village ✨
E-Tong Village, a small village in the valley of Pilok Subdistrict, Thong Pha Phum District, Kanchanaburi Province, a former prosperous mining town. After the glorious legend was closed, it remains a popular tourist village full of natural beauty. It seems to have a spell that attracts tourists who yearn for nature to come and experience the fresh air. Especially during the rainy season, you will see the fog covering the entire village, making it a very romantic and beautiful image.
From Thong Pha Phum town, start entering Pilok Subdistrict via the route to E-Tong Village. It is a winding road in the valley. The first part is a good asphalt road. But after a while, you will find a road under construction. Some parts are full of potholes for quite a long distance. You have to drive carefully. Before traveling, fill up the gas tank because the road is a mountain road with no gas stations until you reach the village.
After driving through the curves and bumps for almost an hour, we arrived at a rest stop. There is a viewpoint where you can see the green mountains and the Vajiralongkorn Dam below. It helps relieve the dizziness from the curves and fatigue from driving very well.
Drive for a while, pass Thong Pha Phum National Park, enter Ban E Tong, which has now become a popular tourist village. Every day, especially on holidays, the area is full of tourists. When you arrive at the village, park your car at the parking lot by the reservoir. Parking in the village is not allowed because it is quite small. After that, walk to carry your luggage to the accommodation you have booked. Ban E Tong has many houses for rent. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, almost all are full. You have to book in advance, especially the accommodation by the reservoir, which is popular and fills up quickly.
The first feeling when experiencing the atmosphere at Ban E Tong is that the air is very fresh. Even though there are a lot of tourists, the parking lot may seem a bit chaotic because cars are coming and going all the time. But I still feel that I can breathe deeply. It is more lively and worth visiting than a few years ago, when it was just a stopover to prepare to conquer Khao Chang Phuak or go to Noen Chang Suk. The atmosphere of E Tong in the past was quiet, with not many shops or accommodations. It is strange that if it were another popular tourist destination with many visitors, we would not like it that much. But for Ban E Tong, it is not like that. Personally, I like the current E Tong style because it is more colorful and attractive to visit than before. ✨
