[2025 Chiang Mai Stay] Travel Guide for B2 Riverside Colonial Hotel (Updated May)

B2 Hotel is a budget hotel chain that we often stay at. This time, we stayed at B2 Riverside Colonial, located on the banks of the Ping River. It is not far from Kad Luang or Waroros Market, and is near famous restaurants in Chiang Mai. If the weather is not too hot, you can walk for about 10 minutes to the old moat and Thapae Gate to continue your trip. The rooms are decorated in a cute (modern) colonial style, as the name suggests. I heard that there are rooms with river views from the windows. The beds are comfortable, the air conditioner is cool, and there are slippers, soap, shampoo, and a hair dryer. The staff are very helpful. On the evening of our stay, the water heater did not work, so they changed us to a new room. There are a few things we would like to improve: the bathroom still has black mold in the grout. The hotel has a small and narrow parking lot, and I think the sitting area by the river is not used very often, so water and dust stains are not cleaned often. Overall, the quality of the room compared to the price of a few hundred baht per room is quite good. Stayed at this old place called b2 colonial hotel in Chiangmai. but not that colonial as iIthought it would be. it was not the best experience but passable for just a night. iIhad wanted to have a river view but had a very crammed room with very little space and a huge bed. it was clean but the ventilation vent was dusty and dust keep falling out of it onto the toilet bowl. the place is quite old. loud music from nearby pub went on til midnight. the plus points are it was near nice eatery like Gallery and a very lovely Burmese cafe. B2 Riverside Colonial Hotel Chiang Mai is located on the banks of the Ping River on Charoen Rat Road. This is our favorite B2. It has a unique decoration style. The hotel is a small building with 4 floors and only a few rooms per floor. The common area is clean. There is a Wake Up coffee shop in front as a check-in counter. There is coffee and snacks for sale. Walking through the ground floor, there is parking for about 10 cars. Walking down to a beautiful photo corner by the river. Looking across to the flower market and Waroros Market, this area is a place to buy something to eat and snack. The atmosphere is very good. For the room, we chose to book a river view room. We got a room on the 3rd floor, room 306. The room is small but well-arranged. It doesn't feel cramped. There is a TV and a sofa swing to sit and enjoy the view of the Ping River. The bathroom is convenient. The water pressure is strong. We like that the floor is made of white stone. It looks clean and cool. From the hotel, if you want to find something to eat, turn left out of the hotel. You will reach the Chan Som Bridge, a pedestrian bridge that crosses to Waroros Market or Kad Luang. The building opposite the hotel is very beautiful.
