The largest city of ancient world
Until 1767, Ayutthaya was considered the largest city in the world. It was an ancient metropolis, where more than a million people lived. Most likely, if it were not for a small but - then now Ayutthaya would be one of the largest cities in the world and would definitely be the capital of Thailand.
What happened? There was a raid by Burmese from a neighboring state who came here and simply destroyed the city. The largest city on Earth ceased to exist in just a week. They cut off the heads of all the Buddhas, destroyed what they could and went to their Burma. And now 53,000 people live in Ayutthaya and there are many beautiful ruins.

Getting There - From Bangkok to Ayutthaya catch the ordinary train and travel for 2 hours to get here.
Suggestions: Bring a proper amount of drinks and snacks on the train , too hot and it's tiring because the train is like the old style one and keeps on moving 😅 Also bring umbrella or you will probably end up like me a toasted one 😂

The beautiful temples in Ayutthaya
Historic City of Ayutthaya
Founded c. 1350, Ayutthaya became the second Siamese capital after Sukhothai. It was destroyed by the Burmese in the 18th century. Its remains, characterized by the prang (reliquary towers) and gigantic monasteries, give an idea of its past splendour.
Ayutthaya is far from Bangkok just 2 hours you can take a van or trian to Ayutthaya. There are a lot of old temples and elephant also the most delicious boat noodles #ayutthaya

Details of Ayutthaya
Yesterday I already told you about the amazing city of Ayutthaya, which was once the largest city in the world. Well, now it's time to show you its details. And there are a lot of details here - after all, in this city they tried to make all the temples and important places for the citizens beautiful. Alas, after the invasion of the Burmese, most of them were destroyed. Well, most of all, the statues of Buddhas with severed heads are striking - the Burmese believed that if you cut off the head of a statue, then the soul will leave it.
