If you’re in the area of Helsinki Airport, you may want to try KiipeilyAreena in Tammisto, Vantaa. It’s located within walking distance from most airport hotels or can easily be accessed using a bus. The address is Tammiston kauppatie 10, it’s in the other end of a huge Plantagen Flower shop. You don’t need any equipment to try and there are suitable walls for every skill level. Admission for one person is 12 euros (2022). If you are a member, you can also use the gym located in the same premises. The Clarion hotel is a lovely hotel that's only a 5 mins taxi ride, 5 mins train ride or 20 min walk from Helsinki airport. The hotel is hip and modern and the rooms are cozy and many feature great views. It's very quiet around the area so dining options are limited. However the hotel also boasts a nice gym, and a comfortable sauna. Breakfast is also included and it is in a buffet style with many options to choose from. If you find yourself connecting through Helsinki airport, you're in a for a treat. The airport is home to Finnair, but countless other carriers also serve it. The Schengen area is more of the traditional styled airports however the non Schengen side is the real gem. Usually airports are dull and you can't wait to get out of them. However, Helsinki airport was a joy to be in, even for 5 hours. First, the airport is spacious, modern and clean. Second, there are countless amenities catered to different tastes. For instance, there are different chairs: from rocking chairs to flat bed like seats. There is also drinking water available throughout the terminal. One of my favorites, however are the giant screens that show different scenes and sounds from Finland's nature. This coupled with outside the normal rush hours offers a very calm and quiet stay at this airport. All in all, a smooth and calming experience; something that airports are not always known for. #airport #helsinki

Helsinki is quite a bike friendly city. There are numerous bike paths that run into and out of the city. In fact I'd you have time and are up for the challenge, you can even bike from Helsinki airport to the city center. Let me warn you: it is quite challenging! Nonetheless, the whole journey is done on bike paths, so it's extremely safe. It's simply quite long; around 20 km and a good 2+ hrs. Along the way, however, you pass through some lovely Finnish landscapes that are so relaxing and calming. You'll see flower fields and rivers, which add some variety to your journey. These are really pretty and relaxing to enjoy especially in summer. You really get a sense of Finland as you also pass through several residential areas and parks. I recommend doing this trek in summer when it's nice outside and the weather is warmer. Remember however to bring a windbreaker in case and plenty of water. You can stop and enjoy the lovely scenes on the way so resting isn't an issue. You'll be able to enjoy nature while getting into the city in an economical, healthy and non polluting way.

There is a Moomin Café at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, and if you like Moomin, I highly recommend it! It is especially great for having a cup of coffee while waiting for your flight, as it is located right in front of the Finnair boarding gate to Korea. The interior of the café is decorated with cute Moomin characters, so you can really feel the Finnish atmosphere even in the airport. I had an Americano, but if you drink a latte, they will make latte art with Moomin! They also sell Moomin-related goods, so they are perfect as travel gifts. I took Finnair from Hong Kong to Helsinki for a transfer, and my final destination was Paris. When we arrived on the way there, it was around 5am in the morning. Many stores were not open yet (normal). We could see a lot of Moomin products (also in the duty-free shop), and there was also a Moomin theme cafe (loyal fans should not miss it and go there for a pilgrimage). ) and theme stores (small but with a lot of stuff). There are many places to shop, including stores of the Finnish brand Marimekko and even second-hand clothing stores. There are also a lot of rest spaces, and most importantly, they are all very clean. The style is Nordic. Overall, the transfer experience is pretty good!

YoU know what, I didnt't expect such a smooth experience. it was nice! Flying with Finnair from Helsinki (HEL) to Vilnius (VNO) was a pleasant experience, even on a small aircraft. The boarding process was efficient, and the cabin crew was exceptionally friendly and professional. The in-flight service included complimentary beverage, and i had the blueberry juice, which was a nice touch. The flight itself was smooth, and we arrived in Vilnius on time. The picturesque views of the Baltic landscape from the window added to the enjoyment. Overall, Finnair provided a seamless and comfortable journey.

You'll also not have to venture outside at all which is a definite plus especially in winter time. Amenities are also quite inclusive so you'll have everything you need. The beds are also quite comfortable and unique as they're adjustable into different positions. #freehotelstay Excellent airport hotel with clean rooms and great service. In the world of airport hotels, and Hilton ones for that matter, this has been one of the nicest i have stayed yet. I had an efficient check-in with excellent member recognition and a quick introduction to the hotel. My room was clean, spacious and quite beautiful with light colored interior, high quality appliances, a extremely large bed and a well thought out layout. The small integrated side table next to the bed is one design detail of many that give this room an overall sense if quality. The facilities like sauna, gym and executive lounge are all very good and enough for an airport hotel. Breakfast is also good with one of the beat selections for people with food allergies that i have ever encountered. Staff is also an absolute joy- that can make a real difference in your morning routine. Overall impressive hotel that i would love to come back to.

Finnair's business class lounge is a good place to stop by and grab a few drinks and something to eat before heading on your flight. It isn't a life changing and extraordinary lounge but still gets the basic things done. There are showers, hot food and plenty of alcohol. I think the food is just decent but at least there's something. Further there's plenty of seating available so you shouldn't have an issue with crowding. However I do think it's a bit sterile and it feels a bit of a letdown. I do highly recommend the Airline's signature gin and tonic! It's a very refreshing and tasty treat in this lounge! To enter you can of course be eligible through your frequent flyer status or business class seat.
