With the popularity of 'My Altay', Xinjiang tourism is bound to surge, and the Duku Highway has opened earlier than ever before. Many previously less-known spots like Kanas, Qiongkushitai, and Xiat are now hot destinations, and the experience is not as good as before. - 👸🏻Today, I recommend a hidden gem that is still rarely visited by tourists~ - ✅Lujiaowan Scenic Area 📍Address: Boertonggu Pasture, Shawan City, Tacheng Region, Xinjiang (near S101 provincial road) Lujiaowan is one of the best grasslands at the foot of the northern Tianshan Mountains, once a breeding ground for Tianshan red deer🦌. After the breeding season each year, the male deer shed their antlers by the mountain streams, giving this place its lovely name. - To the south of Lujiaowan lies the Habiga Mountain, over 4000 meters above sea level, with perennial snow on its peak🏔️ and spruce trees like tents. The unique geographical conditions provide abundant rainfall and glacial nourishment to the valley, making the grass much greener than in Ili during the same season❗ - The scenic area is only accessible by self-driving, as there are no shuttle buses❌, so large tour groups do not choose this place. It is currently a private land enjoyed almost exclusively by locals in Xinjiang❤️. Last summer, with high temperatures and strong sunlight, I saw the snow line on the Tianshan Mountains melting away along the Duku Highway, and the grass turned yellow. However, Lujiaowan still had fantastic snow-capped peaks and grasslands, similar to a mini Xiat, and most importantly, there were very few people❗ - For self-driving or chartered car, it is recommended to take the S101 from Urumqi (this national defense highway is also incredibly beautiful), pass through Lujiaowan, and then you can also visit the Anjihai Grand Canyon on the way to Kuitun, connecting to Sayram Lake and Ili. Or continue on the Duku Highway to Dushanzi, which is very convenient

From Kuitun through Bayingou to Lujiaowan, Tangjiashimenzi, Kenswat Reservoir to Baili Danxia, and then to the geographical center of Asia, the connecting road here is the S101 provincial highway. The entire journey is free of charge, with landscapes ranging from grand canyons to grassland snow mountains, and then to the colorful Danxia landforms. It is yet another must-drive scenic avenue in one's lifetime. A full crossing requires preparing for an entire day.

Lujiaowan is located on the northern slope of the Tianshan Mountains, 80 kilometers southwest of Shawan City, Xinjiang, west of Bayingou River, and east of Danangou. It is composed of two scenic spots, Big Lujiaowan and Small Lujiaowan, with a total area of more than 19,000 hectares. The Tianshan Highway passes by the scenic area. This is where the Tianshan deer live and multiply. The deer shed their antlers once a year, leaving a large number of antlers in the mountains and rivers, hence the name.
