Finally‼️ Found my dream house in Jieyang Ancient City🏮 Friends👋, I found a B&B in Jieyang Ancient City that was converted from a "Si Dian Jin" mansion. Staying there felt like traveling back in time to a wealthy family in the Ming and Qing dynasties! I stayed three nights for just 💰200+ per night on average. It's super cost-effective, and the atmosphere at night is amazing!💯 🔥 Here are a few things I really liked: 1️⃣ Feels like living in a "Chaoshan Forbidden City" Si Dian Jin mansion🎐 This B&B was converted from a traditional Chaoshan "Si Dian Jin" house! The courtyard, carved beams, and inlaid porcelain murals... It was stunning from the moment I walked in! ✨ I heard that "Si Dian Jin" was a type of mansion that only wealthy families could build in ancient times. The layout is comparable to a Beijing courtyard house, but it pays more attention to feng shui and wealth accumulation. The courtyard gathers wind and energy, and staying there made me feel "noble." The owner has mostly preserved the original structure, and decorated it with antique furniture and old Chaoshan objects. Every photo I took looked like a traditional Chinese painting📸. 2️⃣ Second-floor platform with a direct view of Shuangfeng Temple at night! The second floor of the B&B is the best! Both the rooms and the terrace offer views of the illuminated Shuangfeng Temple⛩️. When night falls, the ancient temple is resplendent, and the lights intertwine with the lantern lights in the B&B's courtyard, creating a wonderful atmosphere✨. 3️⃣ Amazing location, steps away from food and fun The B&B is located in the heart of Jieyang Ancient City! It's a 5-minute walk👟 to Zhongshan Street, a renovated century-old arcade street, where the ancient city's night market is also located. You can find oyster pancakes, sweet soups, beef balls, and salted chicken wings🍗 here. It's a 10-minute walk to Jinxian Gate and the Qingshi Cultural Exhibition Area, where you can see Yingge dance and Chaozhou opera performances during festivals! Without lights during the day, it doesn’t feel very special. Some buildings around it seem incomplete, but the center is okay. 📍Fourth stop: Hanliang Cultural Park It is not far from the ancient city. This surprised me a bit. It does have a lot more charm than ordinary parks. Especially when you go up to the attic and look into the distance, the scenery is so beautiful. There are many young ladies wearing ancient costumes and taking wedding photos here. It is a good place to take photos and relax. There are three doors for entry and exit. The traffic out of the North Gate is the least convenient, while the traffic out of the West Gate and South Gate is relatively better. The recommended duration is 1 hour. Because this way it won’t be too late to go to Sun Moon Lake. 📍Fifth stop: Sun Moon Lake It was already evening when I arrived. Therefore, it is recommended that you arrive early so that you can watch the sunset and take a boat trip on the lake during the day. However, the lakeside is still beautiful at night. This is a great place to cycle around the lake. Just opposite is the Shoujianye Port, which looks nice with bright lights and many food and drink options. I chose the sa soup, which tasted pretty good. 📍Stop 6: Pedestrian street near the train station I looked at the Bang Bang Chicken but didn't eat it because it was fried after all, so the taste should be similar to what I expected. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to eat the fried dough sticks because it was a bit late and they were sold out. Therefore, it is recommended that if you arrive in Shangqiu early in the morning, you can eat nearby first. (🚝Warm reminder: I found out when I returned that the north exit of the train station is the entrance to the high-speed rail. The south entrance is the entrance for ordinary trains. Don't go in the wrong way. Because there is still some distance between the two entrances. ) 🚎Transportation: Gaode Map does not show how many stops the bus is away, so it is very uncertain how long you will have to wait for the bus.
