Today I went to visit Anchang ancient town. It is a beautiful area to stroll around and enjoy a Shaoxing rice wine ice cream (5 rmb). I do not recommend paying for the ticket to enter some of the buildings. Whilst it is only 50 rmb it seems a little expensive for what you get and I would prefer to just have strolled around the town. I spent a few hours here and I would definitely recommend it as part of an itinerary to visit Shaoxing. I went in the afternoon on a Sunday and it was very quiet. Maybe the heat had kept people away. There's lots of little restaurants but no one eating at them. I guess maybe some people would arrive in the evening instead. #shaoxing

Anchang Ancient Town is located in Shaoxing county, near Hangzhou’s Xiaoshan district. The waterway is narrow and strips across the town with old Chinese style houses on both sides.
