Okayama Korakuen, one of Japan's three great gardens, is a must-visit spot when traveling to Okayama. My first encounter with Korakuen was during a road trip from Hiroshima to Kyoto, making a special stop in Okayama City to explore this strolling garden that has existed since the Edo period. Korakuen spans a vast area of 133,000 square meters, and its natural beauty throughout the changing seasons is simply breathtaking. The garden features ponds, artificial hills, plum groves, and tea fields, enhancing its natural charm. The historical buildings from the Edo period, such as Enyo-tei, Renchi-ken, Yuishin-zan, Ryuten, and Hananoike, also attract many visitors. Korakuen boasts blooming flowers all year round. Okayama, one of my favourite city in Japan and I always try to reach out while I am in Japan.Okayama is located in west Japan and largest city in its prefecture and home to the imposing, black Okayama Castle and Okayama Korakuen, one of Japan's three greatest landscape gardens.Beautiful landscapes, famous castle and famous for all its fruits . After I left Fukuoka, I took Shinkansen ( Sakura 551- one of JR train ) up to Okayama. Keep my luggage in one of coin locker and get a bus No 18 from just outside of train station . Get down at Korakuen main gate , get a ticket for Okayama Cultural Zone ticket , it cost me 520¥ and start explore Okayama Prefecture museum and continue to Korakuen Garden ( famous for coin fish pond and beautiful landscape) and get out by South Gate and continue to Okayama Castle. Then walk out to nearest 🚋 station and back to Okayama train station, have my lunch , took my luggage from coin locker and continue my journey to Hiroshima. Although there are quite a few hotels near Okayama Station, the prices are surprisingly similar to those of hotels in Tokyo. So I considered for a while before booking this Hotel AreaOne Okayama. The hotel is about a 5 to 10-minute walk from JR Okayama Station. Although it is a business hotel and an old building, the room is really small and can barely fit a small double bed, leaving not much space. However, the price is cheap, the location is convenient, the service staff is friendly, and the breakfast has Japanese and Western options, and the taste is also good. kurashiki is a historic city located in western okayama prefecture, japan. there are so many sites to explore one of the most highlights is to enjoy a slow 20 minutes of cruise on a traditional boat tour of kurashiki canal from an old fashioned boat. this boat tour offers tourists a chance to admire the town’s white walls along the river that flows through the center of town. as night falls the street will light up to have the most romantic view of the reflecting river bank. #naturalwonders
