Lingyin Temple was first built in the first year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. Here, the incense is flourishing, and the mountain peaks are exquisitely beautiful. To keep up with the young people, I also booked a temple morning class. Young people make choices, but I want to work, progress, and burn incense. The only hotel in Hangzhou where you can book a temple morning class is Aman Fayun. You can ask Aman Fayun to help you book a morning class at Yongfu Temple, but it's not guaranteed. You need to book three days in advance, and it depends on fate and the specific situation of the temple. The morning class starts at 5:30 am, and the hotel provides a shuttle bus to Yongfu Temple, which takes half an hour. If it's the first or fifteenth day of the lunar month, it takes an hour and a half. In this temple that is more than 1,600 years old, you can chant and pray with the master, and the countless worldly wishes in your mind will become calm in the Sanskrit. The room was beautiful and had probably the best sleep I’ve had in a long time as the room becomes completely pitch black and the bed is super comfortable. The spa was unreal, with an ensuite for every service (1 or 2 people). The spa is located next to the pool which had to be my favorite thing about staying there - the afternoon tea by the pool was amazing, delicious, and so cute. It wasn’t hard to feel comfortable or communicate because the majority of staff speaks English. The hotel has 6 places to eat, but I will say as someone who doesn’t eat meat it was a little hard to find options at the hotel but super easy to order food in! If you do eat meat, no problem, there are many options. Definitely recommend Amanfayun to anyone but especially anyone looking for a weekend away with family, a friend, or a loved one. We had a spontaneous moment on our last morning in Hangzhou! We read about the beautiful Amanfayun Luxury Resort and Hotel in a an article the night previous and it mentioned how the breakfast was incredible. It is a beautiful ancient village with over 1000 year old history, its old houses with romantic rooms and courtyards are shaded alongside stone pathways leading up to the Lingyin Temple. 🙌🏻 The food was lush and the service was top notch, for those that don’t speak Mandarin, the staff also speaking English. We spent a few hours just relaxing, taking in the beautiful decor, enjoying the peace and background music, and of course took every bit advantage of the food! It’s the most we have ever, and probably will ever, spend on BREAKFAST, however we took it on the chin and accepted it as a happy experience to take away with us.
