Amagi Park, a lesser-known cherry blossom spot in Fukuoka Prefecture, is located in Asakura City, southeast of Fukuoka. This expansive public park features a gourd-shaped Maruyama Pond at its center, surrounded by approximately 4,000 cherry trees, including Somei Yoshino, Yamazakura, and Yaezakura varieties. Every spring, the park transforms into a breathtaking sea of blossoms, earning it the nickname Maruyama Park among locals. The park boasts a rich natural environment with amenities such as fountains, a lawn plaza, a children's play area, and barbecue-friendly spaces, making it an ideal spot for weekend picnics and outings. During the cherry blossom season, the park hosts an illumination event from sunset until 10 PM, creating a dreamy and romantic night-time cherry blossom viewing experience.

It's about an hour's drive from Fukuoka City. I came to see the cherry blossoms at Amagi Park. It's a nice countryside, so it's very quiet and many people enjoy the cherry blossoms peacefully. There are also stalls here and there. The red bridge in the middle of the park is cute and makes for great photos. There are very few tourists, so if you don't like crowds, this is recommended. There is a relaxed atmosphere. It looks like it will be very beautiful in the autumn leaves season. 🌿 To Amagi Park in Bodaiji Kotohira-cho, Asakura City 🌿 Commonly known as Maruyama Park Around the gourd-shaped pond in the center of the park, about 4,000 cherry trees, including Somei Yoshino, are in full bloom.
