Lamar Valley, Yellowstone National Park

Lamar Valley This part of Yellowstone is sometimes called the American Serengeti and offers the best wildlife viewing in the park. Located in the northeast corner of Yellowstone, Lamar Valley is home to large herds of bison and is the place where visitors are most likely to see wolves. At least one pack of wolves, sometimes two, usually resides in this valley. In fact, Lamar Valley is where one of the park's most famous wolf packs, the Druids, once lived. Other creatures that can often be found in Lamar Valley include pronghorn, elk, coyotes, and bears. It's best to look for bears and wolves in the early morning or evening.
