All Moments About Granada Province
[Granada, the jewel of Andalusia]
It's completely different. It feels like walking through a quiet small town in the Middle East. Granada, which flourished under the Moorish Empire until the Christian forces took over in the late 15th century, still retains its Islamic color. It also has traditional Andalusian features such as white houses, cave houses, and flamenco, making it the perfect city to rest before heading to Madrid.
A place you must visit in Granada is the Alhambra Palace. This palace, which means red castle, is so beautiful that it is called the pinnacle of Islamic architecture, and it is recommended to visit all four palaces. Of these, you must not forget to visit the Nasrid Palace, which houses the Sultan's prayer room, because the view of the Albaicín from the window is truly beautiful. When you exit the Nasrid Palace, you will see the Tower of the Ladies reflected in the water in the Partal Garden, which is also a pleasure to see during your visit to the palace.
After visiting the Alhambra Palace, let's go to the Albaicín. It is a fortress city located on the hill north of the palace near the Daro River, where you can experience the life of the Moors. You can encounter the maze-like streets that appear at the beginning of the first episode of the drama Misaeng. On this street lined with white houses, you can leisurely have a cup of tea at an Arabic-style teahouse and check out a shop that makes pottery with Granada on it. The best part of traveling to Granada is finishing your trip by looking at the Alhambra Palace at sunset from the San Nicolas Cathedral on the top of the Albaicín.
TIP: Alhambra Palace Entrance
Alhambra Palace can be entered on the same day, but during peak season, the waiting time for ticketing is 2-3 hours, and even if you wait in line from the opening, you can only get a ticket for the last admission time. Absolutely! It is essential to make a reservation for your desired time slot on the Alhambra Palace website at least a week before visiting Granada. The fee is 15.4 euros, and you can exchange it for a ticket by presenting your passport and reservation number upon arrival at the palace.

Granada is a city located at the eastern end of the Andalusia region in southern Spain.
If you look at Spanish history, there was an Arab dynasty era.
It was built during the last Arab dynasty, and it took about 120 years to build.
If you look at the picture, it looks Arabic, and the patterns are like that.
This palace was later rebuilt in part in the Italian Renaissance style.
It suffered great damage from an earthquake and is still being restored.
If you go there, you can see traces of the earthquake.
Although various styles are mixed,
It seems difficult to see a distinct Arabic-style building anywhere else.

Guadix - the Cave Town in Spain, just an hour away from Granada 🇪🇸
Granada is an enchanted city, right? However, just an hour away from Granada, there is another charming town that stores fascinating history and culture of the caves, and that is Guadix.
How to get there?
Bus: 45-60mins, from Granada estación de AutoBús to Guadix. Operated by BAM, 8 coaches per day, single ticket around €6.
What to see?
📍 📸 Barrio de las Cuevas: the cave district, home to over 2,000 cave dwellings that are still inhabited today.
📍📸 Mirador del Cerro de la Bala: where you can see the breathtaking panoramic views of Guadix, which includes the picturesque hills, valleys, and distinctive geological formations typical of the region.
📍 Catedral de la Encarnación de Guadix: an architectural masterpiece that blends Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles. Built on the site of a former mosque, this grand cathedral is a testament to the town’s rich and diverse history. Climb the bell tower for panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and the Sierra Nevada mountains in the distance.
📍 Alcazaba Citadell: a Moorish fortress offering stunning views over the town and the surrounding valleys. It is temporarily closed but it is still very nice to walk around that neighborhood.
Guadix is a small city where history and tradition are etched into the landscape, offering a truly unforgettable experience for those who seek to discover the lesser-known corners of Spain.

The defense fortresses the Moors relied against enemies
#celebrateit
Torre del Cubo was part of the Granada’s ancient Nasrid walls.
This semicircular tower, strategically positioned along the Alhambra’s defenses, reinforced the fortress against attacks. Its sturdy design reflects Islamic engineering, while later Christian modifications integrated Renaissance elements.
Here you’d be able to access the panoramic view of the Granada city. It’s right next to Nasrid Palace within Alhambra complex. Just make sure you have enough time in Alhambra then you’d not miss out on this section of it.

Limited-time snow cap on mountains in Granada during the winter
#celebrateit
Sierra Nevada, the mountains in the southeast of Granada city, which also host the highest mountain in peninsula Spain, Mulhacén, are well-known for their snow-capped peaks.
They offer a striking backdrop to the rich culture and architecture of Granada, which is nestled at their foot.
It is in fact one of the first reasons that made me wanna come to Granada. After I arrived at Granada, I showed the hotel reception a picture I saw on the internet (with huge snowy mountains at the back of Alhambra complex) and asked them where the photo point might be, they told me it must be a photoshopped.
But I wasn’t fully convinced. Eventually we found out the viewpoint is around Caleta station—but one needs a camera lens with around 10x power to capture it with clarity. I only had 5x, so the image quality was compromised when I had to digitally zoom in.

The rewards of constant uphill climbing in Granada
#celebrateit
Chinese people describe Granada as the Spanish version of Chongqing for being a mountain/hill city.
The bad side of it is that trips to/fro many attractions become extra tiring than it normally does; but the good part of it, which I appreciate a lot, is the good views that come along.
There are many viewpoints in the city due to the geography of the place. Some of the best ones are:
1) Mirador San Nicholas
2) Torre del Cubo (inside the Alhambra compound)
3) Mirador Ojo de Granada

Sweet tooth craving
Whilst in Granda I had the afternoon to explore and decided to treat myself to a sweet dessert called Piononos. It’s a typical local sweet treat and it’s a great pick me up to get you through the afternoon. They are found in local cafes near Plaza Neuva square and bakeries and from the signs you cannot miss it! #sweettoothsatisfaction

#2025 Overseas Travel Event
I took the train from Granada to Ronda. The Granada train station is very small. During the summer, which is the peak season, there seems to be a long line inside the small station, but in the winter, there are few people and it is quiet. It is small, so there is not much space to rest.

Another small church built on the ruins of a mosque
Andalucia Tour ~ Granada (Region)
The church was built on the site where the 16th-century Marzuela suburban mosque once stood. Built in the Mudejar style, it has three naves with a choir at the bottom. The central nave is covered with a Mudejar coffered ceiling and the side aisles are ribbed. The central nave is separated from the main church by pointed transepts on Gothic pilasters. The main chapel is covered with a Mudejar-style octagonal coffered ceiling, richly decorated with polychrome carved cherubs and supported by shell-shaped pendants.

A town full of Moorish culture
Andalucia Tour ~ Granada (Region)
The Pampanaira is the perfect place to preserve the Moorish cultural heritage of Granada's Alpujarra region, with its narrow streets and alleys, charming squares and traditional houses.
Squeezed between the steep slopes of the Sierra Nevada and the Mediterranean coast, the beauty and charm of Pampanella have earned the town different awards, such as the First Provincial Decoration Award (1976), which it received two years in a row in 1977 and 1978. In this town we found the O Sel Ling Buddhist Monastery, a place dedicated to seclusion and meditation.

This is a must-see attraction in Granada
Andalucia Tour ~ Granada
Take a picturesque stroll along the narrow cobbled streets along the Darro River. There are many historic buildings from the 16th and 17th centuries, old Nasrid houses, 11th century Arab baths and two 17th century stone bridges across the river. This street along the creek is such a beautiful trail. You can see the walls of the Alhambra complex and there are many small shops, bars and restaurants. There are also great views of parts of the Alhambra. This is a "must see"!

The beautiful fountain of Granada's Plaza Santa Ana, next to the popular and bustling Plaza Nueva, the oldest in the city, surrounded by magnificent monuments such as the Prime Minister's Palace, the Church of Santa Ana or the Torre de la Vera in the Alhambra, stands a powerful and alert stream of water, offering visitors the refreshing, crystal water that is characteristic of this city of Los Carmenes, and is worth a visit during the day or at night.

This belvedere is one of the most charming corners of the Alhambra Palace in Granada. Surrounded by tall cypress and orange trees, its fountains, beautiful flower beds and rich vegetation create an atmosphere of tranquility.
The architecture of the belvedere, with its exquisite plasterwork and arches, is a clear example of Nasrid art. Its beauty and history make it one of the most special places in this World Heritage monument.

【Granada】Alhambra Palace: Book your tickets in advance, a must-see attraction in Spain
Arrived at the Alhambra Palace, a major attraction in Granada, Spain. Tickets had to be booked online a month in advance. Take the red bus in the city. The beauty of this ancient city can only be experienced with your own eyes. I only knew about this place because of the memories of Korean Grandpa Over Flowers and the Alhambra Palace, so I met many Koreans who came to Spain for tourism #国外游 #西班牙 #西班牙旅行 #granada #阿哈布拉宫

Alhambra - Spain
If you’re looking to visit famous buildings in Spain, you will definitely want to visit the Alhambra in Granada, Spain. The Alhambra is an incredible palace and fortress complex complete with gardens and is known for its Islamic architecture.
You can spend a few hours seeing the highlights of the complex or spend a full day getting lost in the magic of Alhambra. While it may be hot during summer and spring, the flowers will be in peak bloom throughout the grounds. The complex overlooks the Albaicin quarter of Granada.
There are multiple ticket types when visiting Alhambra. The most popular are general tickets, garden tickets, or night tickets. You’ll want to make sure to get the general daytime ticket ahead of time if you are interested in visiting all of the available parts of the complex!
