During the Dragon Boat Festival I played in Hong Kong for days, staying at the Hyatt in Tsim Sha Tsui for the first two days, and on the last day, I decided to switch to Hong Kong Island and check out the newly opened AKI Hong Kong - MGallery Hotel Collection last year . First, let's talk about the brand. MGallery is actually a designer boutique brand under Accor, which feels comparable to InterContinental's Indigo or Marriott's Autograph Collection, with a strong brand personality. The MGallery is located in Wan Chai. If you are arriving by public transport, there are 2 ways: If you are coming from Shenzhen, you can take the Luohu line and get out at the Convention and Exhibition Center A3 exit Or if you are coming from Tsim Sha Tsui by subway, it is recommended to switch lines and get off at Wan Chai Station, exit A1 From personal experience, I recommend exiting at Wan Chai Station as it is more convenient. Just walk along Lockhart Road, turn left at the second intersection, and you'll be there in about 500 meters. Although the Convention and Exhibition Station is only 300 meters away from the hotel on the map, you must cross a footbridge , which involves carrying luggage up and down, and it's quite exhausting in the summer . The hotel is close to Sogo Department Store and Hysan Place, just 500 meters away, making it a nice walk. Let's focus on the rooms. The rooms at MGallery are small, which I expected. Even the upgraded city view room is 16 square meters, at least 30% smaller than the neighboring Novotel, so I was a bit apprehensive at first. However, when I actually opened the door, I didn't feel cramped at all. The bedroom has panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides, bringing in plenty of natural light and offering a strong sense of transparency, with direct views of Victoria Harbour. The bathroom gets full marks , with a separate dry and wet area, an intelligent toilet, and MALIN+GOETZ amenities, with the rum body wash smelling particularly nice . The whole house has a Japanese wood color tone, giving it more of a homey feel than a business hotel vibe. You can control the curtains, lights, and air conditioning with a tablet, and there's a Japanese teapot, TWG tea bags, and Nespresso capsules. The hotel lobby is on the 3rd floor, and on the other side of the check-in area is the Lobby Lounge, where Accor members can exchange for a free welcome drink and take a short break in the lounge, enjoying a moment of tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle of Wan Chai. The hotel's top floor features a 24-hour gym and Uncle Ming's Whisky Bar , where you can overlook the Wan Chai night scene. Good price tips: During the Dragon Boat Festival, I checked in on Saturday, and the external website prices were over 2000. However, this time I used the Accor Luxury Card (bought for 1188 yuan) to redeem the free room benefit, which was almost half price, so it was very worthwhile, and I even got an upgrade. The restaurant is on the second floor, open all day, with a super rich menu, so if you don't want to go out on an empty stomach, you can go to the second floor for breakfast. There's also a very atmospheric whiskey bar on the rooftop, which is really great for couples to enhance their relationship~ If you're with friends or by yourself, it's also very pleasant to have a drink there after a day of touring.
