Fukuoka | 7-hour travel guide to feel the relaxation of this city ✨
#福冈之旅 The cruise ship arrived in Fukuoka. I only had 7 hours to get off the ship, but I had a lot of fun!
Go ashore and head straight to: Platinum Tea House 🍵
As soon as we got off the boat, we rushed to the Platinum Tea House. The Japanese baked pancakes were amazing at first bite. They were soft and sweet. The freshness of matcha and the sweetness of the pancakes blended perfectly. The matcha was also excellent, without any bitterness. The front of this small shop is very inconspicuous, hidden in an alley, but the interior is a different world. Surrounded by lush green plants, the bookshelves are filled with books and magazines that can be browsed at will. It is really comfortable and suitable for sitting down and enjoying it slowly. It is recommended to play for 1-1.5 hours.
Dessert time: Abeki🧈
After eating the pancakes, we checked in at the super popular Abeki. I ordered original and chocolate cheesecakes. The original flavor is light and dense, and melts in your mouth, while the chocolate flavor is rich and solid. Every bite is happiness. The store is decorated like a small monastery, with ethereal hymns playing, creating a great atmosphere. It takes about an hour to leisurely eat a cake here and enjoy a moment of tranquility.
Coffee time: como es☕️
As a vinyl lover, como es is a must-see! The menu is a tape, you can identify the song by scanning it, and then wait for the coffee for a song, which is really romantic💙 On weekdays, this is a cafe with coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. On weekends, the store will show movies and various music activities. Order a cup of coffee, immerse yourself in the music and coffee aroma, and feel very comfortable. The tour lasts 1-1.5 hours.
Food tour: snacks and ramen
Of course, you can’t miss the Fukuoka cuisine! The octopus balls are eaten with green onions and vinegar. The taste is very different from that of other places. One bite is super satisfying. I also had the ramen that is a must-try when visiting Hakata. The rich pork bone soup base and chewy noodles made me feel extremely happy. You can eat while walking and spend 1 - 1.5 hours to experience the atmosphere of Fukuoka.
Shopping surprise: I found a hat I liked
I took advantage of the time while walking to visit a street shop and unexpectedly found a hat I liked, which added a little surprise to this trip to Fukuoka.
In addition to the places mentioned above, Fukuoka also has the following attractions worth recommending:
• Fukuoka Tower: Fukuoka’s landmark building, 234 meters high, is the tallest seaside tower in Japan. Standing on the observation deck, you can have a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery of Fukuoka city and Hakata Bay, especially at night when the lights are on, which is dazzling and very suitable for taking photos and checking in. The tour lasts 1-2 hours.
• Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine: A shrine dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning. It has a long history and its architectural style is simple and elegant. The plum blossoms here are world-famous. February to March every year is a good time to enjoy the plum blossoms. There are many special amulets available for purchase in the shrine, and various special snacks such as plum branch cakes can be tasted in the surrounding shopping streets. The tour lasts 2-3 hours.
• Ohori Park: With its beautiful lake and lush greenery, it is a great place for Fukuoka citizens to relax. There are many birds living in the park, and you can also go boating. The Fukuoka Art Museum is also in the park. If you are interested, you can go in and appreciate the art works. The visit time is 2-3 hours.
• Kushida Shrine: One of the three major shrines in Fukuoka, famous for its large red torii and gorgeous portable shrines. The Hakata Gion Yamakasa Festival held in July every year is very famous. There will be lively parades during the period. You can experience the rich Japanese shrine culture here on weekdays. The visit time is 1-2 hours.
7 hours full, really satisfying! Now the cruise ship has arrived in Sasebo. One city a day. It really feels like a dream.
