Follow in the footsteps of Li Ziqi! Check in at this mysterious, niche wonderland.
Following in the footsteps of Li Ziqi, I came to this mysterious, niche wonderland - the filming location of Li Ziqi's video - Baima Wanglang Nature Reserve.
Western Sichuan is often crowded and congested 😣, until I came to Baima Wanglang - the scenery that came into view hit my heart. There is no congestion in Western Sichuan, but the scenery is not inferior to Western Sichuan, and it is so beautiful that people can't take their eyes off it 🥰.
Here, you can take a leisurely hike, with a primeval forest covered with moss 🌲 under your feet, step by step, as if you are traveling through a tunnel of time, and the feeling is wonderful 😎. Then, after passing through a cedar forest 😍, a magnificent snow-capped mountain suddenly appears in front of you 🏔️, and the scene really hits your heart. The photos can't fully show the shocking visual enjoyment of seeing it with your own eyes 🤩.
🚉Transportation Guide:
🚗Transportation: Public transportation is not very convenient here, so it is recommended to drive 🚙, and you can easily find it by navigating to "Baima Wanglang" 🧭.
📝Tips:
It is a nature reserve, not a regular scenic spot, and the supporting facilities are not very complete 😅, so it is best to prepare supplies in advance, such as water and food 🥪🥤.
🎈How to play: In the reserve, you can take a sightseeing bus to visit Gan Haizi and Baisha Valley, and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way 🚌.
However, if you want to have a better experience, it is highly recommended to take a car to Gan Haizi and then start hiking 🚶♂️, because you will be shuttling through the tall and mysterious primeval forest all the way, and the hiking experience is really great. It is as if you are one with nature 🌳, and you can feel the charm of nature with every step.

Colorful forests around Chengdu, encounter a stunning Norwegian forest! 🍁
🍂 Have you heard? There is a place around Chengdu where the colorful forests in autumn are as beautiful as walking into a Norwegian forest! 🌲 I'm talking about Tianmu Lake in Mianyang, a secret place that makes you feel relaxed and happy. Instead of squeezing into western Sichuan, we head north in the opposite direction and discover a more enchanting autumn fairy tale.
-
🚗 Why choose Tianmu Lake?
Departing from Chengdu, it takes less than three hours to reach this autumn treasure. Compared to the yellow leaves in western Sichuan, the colorful forests here are more vibrant, and the colorful forests along the way are dazzling. 🌈
-
🍂 How to play at Tianmu Lake?
📍 The blue lake water of Tianmu Lake, combined with the red leaves and colorful forests on both sides and the snow-capped mountains in the distance, is like a world in an oil painting. Here, you can row a boat and feel the poetic and picturesque scenery between the mountains and rivers.
📍 Baxijia Ancient Village, a simple and quiet place surrounded by red leaves, makes you feel like traveling back to ancient times. Here, you can experience the customs of the Baima Tibetan people and taste authentic Tibetan cuisine.
📍 "Hundred-mile Colorful Forest Corridor," the stunning autumn scenery on National Highway G247, where red leaves and autumn colors intertwine, making it hard to leave.
-
🏞 Must-have equipment
Remember to bring your drone and overlook the colorful forests and lakes from the air for a stunning view! 📸 Don't forget the wide-angle lens to capture the magnificent scenery of colorful forests and snow-capped mountains. If the weather is clear, the interplay of light and shadow in the morning and evening will create photos with rich layers.
-
🍽 Food and accommodation
There are many homestays of the Baima Tibetan people, but remember to book in advance to avoid missing out. In the evening, gather around the fire, taste local honey wine and roasted small potatoes, and feel the warm hospitality of the Tibetan people.
-
🚗 How to get there
Driving is a better option. Depart from Chengdu, take the Chengdu-Mianyang Expressway, and drive for about 3 hours. Or take the high-speed train to Mianyang and then transfer to Tianmu Lake. For those who don't want to drive, you can choose a local tour group to save time and effort.
-
🕰 Best viewing time
The first ray of sunlight in the morning is a good time to photograph colorful forests and snow-capped mountains. At this time, the mist is lingering, and the interplay of light and shadow between the mountains and rivers is the most charming.

Seabuckthorn Valley, Pingwu, Sichuan | A hidden gem.
📍Seabuckthorn Valley is located in Xiangshujia Village, Baima Tibetan Township, Pingwu County. Entering the scenic area, you will find a stunning primitive world. This is a pristine forest, known as the "back garden of the giant panda." Stroll along the clear stream, breathe in the fresh air, and feel the breath of nature. Walking through the lush forest, you will feel like you are in a fairy tale world, purifying your mind and relaxing your body and mind.
PS: You can also see snow-capped mountains and ice waterfalls in winter! 🌲🍃
✔️Recommended attractions
👉Seabuckthorn Valley Waterfall Group: The waterfalls here are varied in shape and majestic, making it the best place to take photos of waterfalls.
👉Pristine Forest: Stroll through the pristine forest, feel the mystery and tranquility of nature, and take photos of the natural scenery.
👉Viewing Platform: Located at the top of the mountain, the viewing platform overlooks the entire Seabuckthorn Valley scenic area, making it a great place to take panoramic photos.
Seabuckthorn Valley Hiking🚶:
1️⃣Drive for 5 minutes from the village to the entrance of the scenic area. It is a semi-developed area, and cars 🚗 cannot drive up the mountain. Park at the entrance, and the parking fee 🅿️ is CNY 10 per car.
2️⃣One person needs to scan the code to log in the vehicle information and record the number of people (forest fire prevention registration) at the entrance. Do not bring fire sources into the mountain ⛰️, and do not smoke on the mountain.
3️⃣Choose to hike up the mountain, which may take more than 1.5 hours.
4️⃣Viewing point: There is a section of road after getting off the motorcycle. You can walk up the mountain to the waterfall viewing platform. Compared with the waterfall in Jiuzhaigou, it is not as good, but it is still very good to hike up or play along the way. There is a forest classroom, which is a rest area under construction. Due to the semi-developed state, some garbage has not been cleaned up in time. There are tables, chairs, and wooden walkways, which are good for checking in.👍
✔️Travel preparation:
👚Dress suggestion: Outdoor, denim style, bright colors, and photos under the green shade and waterfall.
🌟The scenic area is not fully developed, with only dirt roads. The scenery is good, and there is no entrance fee. Overall, it is good. You can visit it after the asphalt road is completed.

Wanglang National Nature Reserve, Pingwu, Sichuan | Explore the Secret of the Primeval Forest 🪐
📍Wanglang is located in Baima Tibetan Township, Pingwu County, Mianyang City, about 60 km from Jiuzhaigou County. It is a national nature reserve and home to wild giant pandas. Many species of birds and carnivores (wolves 🐺 and snow leopards) have been found here.
The reserve has been closed for more than three years and is now open again. The scenery in late October is very beautiful, with snow-capped mountains and red forests, crystal-clear rivers, and freely growing trees. Seeing pandas and other animals is a matter of luck. If you do see them, don't shout, or you'll scare them away.
🚗84 km from Pingwu County, 2-hour drive
🎫Ticket: CNY 108/person, including sightseeing bus
⚠️TIPS:
1⃣️Road conditions🛣
Wanglang is located in Baima Tibetan Township, Baima Town, Pingwu County. The road conditions are good. The road is narrow after entering Baima Tibetan Township. There is a section of road under construction, which is a dirt road and a bit bumpy, but the rest is fine.
2⃣️Ticket purchase🎫
Tickets can be purchased online or on-site. If you buy tickets on-site, go early. If you go late during the National Day holiday, you may not be able to buy tickets.
3⃣️Sightseeing bus🚌
It takes a long time to get from the entrance to the core area by sightseeing bus! It takes about 40 minutes. The road is full of big bends, so be careful to prevent motion sickness.
4⃣️Dress code👚
The highest point of the scenic area is more than 3,000 meters above sea level, and it is really cold inside. If you go at this time of year, you must wear a down jacket and dress warmly.
5⃣️Travel guide🏃♀️
There are three main attractions in Wanglang: Gan Haizi, Baisha Valley, and Zhugencha Valley. Gan Haizi is the most beautiful attraction. Gan Haizi is at the drop-off point of the sightseeing bus, in the middle of the scenic area, not at the highest point, so don't get it wrong.
Baisha Valley and Zhugencha Valley are at the highest point. Baisha Valley is the site of the 1976 earthquake landslide. I didn't go to Zhugencha Valley because of time constraints.
The distance from Gan Haizi to Baisha Valley is about 3 km, along a forest path in the primeval forest, which requires hiking. You can take a sightseeing bus on the way back.
6⃣️Accommodation🏠
Wanglang is not far from Pingwu, so you can make a round trip in one day if you leave early in the morning. It is recommended to stay in Pingwu County, where the conditions are better.
7⃣️Food😋
The commercial facilities in the scenic area are not mature. There are no restaurants, only small shops selling instant noodles, drinks, and snacks. So it is necessary to bring some food with you.
8⃣️Tianmu Lake and Baxijia Ancient Village are on the way to Wanglang, so you can visit them on the way.

Dream of the Three Kingdoms: Jiangyou Pass
📖This unremarkable city gate is the Jiangyou Pass, which ultimately determined the fate of Shu Han. In 219 AD, Liu Bei set up the "Jiangyou Garrison" in the present-day Nanba Town, Pingwu County to guard against military attacks from Cao Wei. This garrison later became known as "Jiangyou Pass". 🌳In 263 AD, Deng Ai, the Wei general who conquered the west, led 30,000 troops to secretly cross Yinping. His son, Deng Zhong, led 5,000 elite troops to suddenly appear in front of Jiangyou Pass. The defending general, Ma Nai, was so terrified that he surrendered without a fight. Deng Ai's army then went to Fucheng and directly threatened Chengdu. At this time, the main forces of Shu and Wei, Jiang Wei and Zhong Hui, were still confronting each other in front of Jianmen Pass.
Deng Shizai secretly crossed Yinping, and Zhuge Zhan died in Mianzhu
🌳When I was young, I read the Three Kingdoms and was so angry that I threw the book away. Now I know that when Jiang Wei, Liao Hua, and Zhang Yi retreated to Jianmen Pass, Jiangyou Pass had already become an isolated city. Zhong Hui sent Tian Zhang to come from the north and first defeated Ma Nai's 3,000 ambush troops outside the pass.
🌳The Fujiang River in the mountains is turbulent and changeable. Fifty years ago, people still had to cross the river by ferry. At this moment, Ma Nai could still gather the defeated soldiers and fight a battle.
However, Deng Ai's army traveled 700 li in uninhabited areas, cut through the mountains, and built bridges and pavilions
Along the upper reaches of the Fujiang River, they came rolling in from the northwest. The two sides were already in danger. Ma Nai offered the pass because he was unable to turn the tide. However, when the country is in danger, the literati die in remonstrance and the warriors die in battle. If you are entrusted with heavy responsibilities, how can you not fail?
🌳Before Wei attacked Shu, Jiang Wei had submitted a memorial to the emperor to increase troops in Yinping and Yangping to prevent it. However, Liu Chan favored the eunuchs and believed in ghosts and witches. He did not take precautions and the defense system eventually collapsed. 🌳In 263 AD, Liu Chan surrendered to Deng Ai and Shu Han was destroyed. Wei and others were still fighting on the front line, and the soldiers were so angry that they drew their swords and cut the stones.
📖The worry in Mr. Zhuge's "Chushi Biao" about "being close to the villain and far away from the virtuous minister" has become a prophecy. How can we not regret it? It is a regret for thousands of years.
I rarely use the word "shocking" to describe a place around Chengdu...
I always wanted to go to Shanxi to see ancient buildings, but time is limited
Unexpectedly, I also saw shocking ancient buildings in Sichuan
Hidden in the deep mountains of Sichuan, it has the reputation of a small Forbidden City
This is also one of the locations of the popular "Black Myth: Wukong"

✅Pingwu Baoensi Travel Guide
It is recommended to start from the mountain gate➡️Go inside, visit the Heavenly King Hall➡️Daxiong Hall➡️Wanfo Pavilion, and the Great Compassion Hall and Huayan Hall on the left and right sides, don't miss it, it's shocking!
Pingwu Baoensi has "Six Jue"
1⃣️First Jue: Temple of Ten Thousand Dragons
There are 9999 dragon patterns in the temple, distributed in the temple's ceiling caisson, column eaves and beams, ridge decoration and tile, stove, plaque, bell button, each is a vivid dragon image. There is a dragon position of "Long live the emperor today" in front of the Buddha in the Daxiong Hall, which is the Temple of Ten Thousand Dragons
2⃣️Second Jue: Dougong Museum
Baoensi Dou Gong has 36 kinds, a total of more than 2730 pieces, more types than the Forbidden City, so it is called the Dou Gong Museum. Due to the stable structure of Dou Gong, Baoensi's wooden structure was basically intact in the 512 earthquake.
3⃣️Third Jue: 450 square meters of Ming Dynasty murals
The existing scale of the Ming Dynasty murals in Baoensi is huge, and it belongs to the typical fine brushwork and heavy color "Taoist painting" type in the early and middle Ming Dynasty. The murals are mainly painted in the Daxiong Hall and Wanfo Pavilion. Now you can only see the murals in the Daxiong Hall. The second floor of the Wanfo Pavilion is not open to the public. The murals on the second floor are also the best preserved in the temple.
4⃣️Fourth Jue: All Phoebe Deep Mountain Forbidden City
The wooden components of Baoensi are basically Phoebe, all from the local Phoebe in Pingwu. The wood is hard and resistant to corrosion. Baoensi was built in 1440 and has stood for 500 years. Because the construction system imitates the layout of the Forbidden City in Beijing, you can see the Golden Water Bridge when you enter from the mountain gate.
5⃣️Fifth Jue: The best preserved revolving sutra in the country
There is a revolving sutra in the center of Huayan Zang. It is a tower-shaped device with a structure of golden silk nanmu. The revolving sutra is 11 meters high and 7 meters in diameter. It weighs 10,000 catties. It can be rotated left and right by one person. The exquisite carving on the revolving sutra is shocking
6⃣️Sixth Jue: Thousand-Hand Guanyin statue carved from a single piece of Phoebe
What shocked me in Baoensi was the Thousand-Hand Guanyin statue in the Great Compassion Hall. It was 9 meters high. The main body was carved from a whole piece of Phoebe. Behind it was a fan-shaped densely packed 1004 hands, each with a wise eye. There are also some exquisite murals in the palace, and you can look up, every place is very exquisite~
The Forbidden City in the Deep Mountains of Hei Wukong - Baoen Temple in Pingwu.
Baoen Temple in Pingwu is the most complete Ming Dynasty temple in China. It was built in the fifth year of the Zhengtong era of the Ming Dynasty and completed in the fourth year of the Tianshun era. The temple is the only one in China built entirely of Phoebe wood. Because its ancient architectural complex is modeled after the Forbidden City in Beijing, it is also known as the "Forbidden City in the Deep Mountains". The "Six Wonders" of Baoen Temple are also very famous.
1st Wonder: The building materials of Phoebe wood. The pillars, beams, and rafters in the temple are all made of precious Phoebe wood, which does not grow insects or spider webs all year round, and is unique in the world.
2nd Wonder: The Great Compassion Hall. In the Great Compassion Hall, there is a golden Guanyin with a thousand hands. Her body is carved from a thousand-year-old Phoebe wood. There are 1004 hands behind her, arranged in a fan shape, very much like a blooming golden lotus.
3rd Wonder: The revolving sutra collection of Huayan Hall. The revolving sutra collection is divided into seven layers, which is a wooden structure tower-shaped device used for storing sutras and offering Buddha. It is one of the largest revolving sutra drums in the world, and it is the only one that can be rotated in the world's largest revolving sutra drum.
4th Wonder: The murals of Baoen Temple. There are more than 300 square meters of precious Ming Dynasty murals in the Daxiong Hall and Wanfo Gate Pavilion, with various styles, solemn and solemn.
5th Wonder: The architectural brackets of Baoen Temple. Brackets are one of the characteristics of ancient Chinese architecture. The brackets of Baoen Temple are not only the most in terms of quantity and variety. There are 36 kinds of exquisite brackets in the whole temple, more than 2,000, and it is also known as the "Bracket Museum".
6th Wonder: The gathering of dragons in Baoen Temple. In the temple, the pillars, beams, ceilings, ridge tiles, and even incense burners, plaques, and bell buttons are carved, painted, cast, or molded, highlighting the image of the dragon everywhere. Especially the four mud dragons in Huayan Hall, which are 7 meters long, are the most exquisite. According to statistics, there are 9,999 dragon bodies in the whole temple. Isn't this a shocking sight!
In addition, the ancient temple is presented as a cultural relic protection unit rather than a temple, without monks, without incense, and can be viewed as a museum, walking in it as if entering a concrete world of history.
According to the staff, after the opening of the Pingwu Expressway, the number of tourists has increased significantly, and it is hoped that more people will understand and love this ancient temple.

The temple's architecture is exquisite, combining elements of architecture, sculpture, and painting.
Pingwu Bao'en Temple is located in Pingwu County, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. It was built by Wang Xi and his son Wang Jian, the local officials of the Longzhou Xuanfu Division during the Ming Dynasty, under the imperial edict. The temple was built in the fifth year of the Zhengtong era of the Ming Dynasty (1440) and completed in the fourth year of the Tianshun era of the Ming Dynasty (1460). It has a history of more than 560 years. Legend has it that it was originally built as a palace, but was later converted into a temple when the court found out, hence the nickname "miniature Forbidden City". The layout of Bao'en Temple is very similar to that of the Forbidden City in Beijing. It faces east and is very large, covering an area of 2.5 hectares and a building area of 3,518 square meters. The temple's architecture is exquisite, combining elements of architecture, sculpture, and painting. It is a combination of Confucianism, Buddhism, and folk culture. After many earthquakes, its main structure is still intact. It is one of the most complete ancient Ming Dynasty buildings in China and a national key cultural relics protection unit.
Legend has it that there are 9,999 dragons here | The "Deep Mountain Forbidden City" hidden in a small county town.
| The "Deep Mountain Forbidden City" hidden in a small county town. 🎈Baozi! Today I want to strongly recommend an amazing place to you - Baoensi in Pingwu County, Mianyang, Sichuan! 😎
💥When you step into Baoensi, it's like entering a mysterious and brilliant art palace. It was built in the fifth year of the Ming Dynasty (1440), and hundreds of years of precipitation have made it full of historical charm. 😲
🐉It is said that there are 9,999 dragons hidden here! The nine-dragon plaque in the Daxiong Hall, which is about two meters high, is carved from precious Phoebe zhennan, and the nine cloud dragons are lifelike, as if they can take off at any time, and they are very domineering. There is also the nine-dragon plaque that has the "Long live the emperor today", which adds a sense of historical heaviness. The turning wheel sutra in the Huayan Hall is even more exquisite. The eight swimming dragons on the waist of the base shuttle in the waves, which is very flexible. The beast ornaments on the ridges of the halls, as the nine sons of the dragon, have peculiar shapes and profound meanings. 🐉
🏯Most of the buildings in Baoensi are made of Phoebe zhennan. Phoebe zhennan is hard in texture, beautiful in texture, and exudes a faint fragrance. This kind of wood was exclusively used by the royal family in ancient times. Now in Baoensi, we can appreciate its nobility and elegance up close. For this reason, Baoensi is known as the "Folk Forbidden City", and its grandeur and exquisiteness can be seen. 😏
💖In addition to the elements of dragons and Phoebe zhennan, Baoensi also has many exquisite murals and sculptures. These works of art vividly show Buddhist stories and folk legends, making people feel as if they have traveled through time and space, and feel the wisdom and creativity of ancient artists. 💖
🙌Baozi, September and October are a good time to travel. Baoensi is not only a treasure of history and culture, but also a place where people can find peace and sublimation. Come here to pray for your family and explore the mysterious charm of this "Folk Forbidden City" together! 💕
Stunning autumn colors in the Laohugou Valley in Pingwu
With the leaves changing color, the mountains are covered in red. The Mianyang section of the Giant Panda National Park is home to a stunning autumn landscape. The mountains are covered in colorful trees, and the red leaves are quietly blooming. This place is the Laohugou Valley in Pingwu, a hidden gem in the mountains.
The Laohugou Valley is located in Gao Village, Pingwu County. This season is like a palette of nature, with colorful landscapes everywhere. The colorful forests, mountains, rivers, blue sky, and white clouds are all natural, like a beautiful oil painting.
Walking on such a mountain road, listening to the gurgling water, watching the red leaves all over the mountains, enjoying a quiet beauty, watching the falling leaves, waiting for the sunset, it is refreshing.
As one of the 32 priority protected areas for terrestrial biodiversity in China, the Laohugou Valley is home to wild animals such as giant pandas, takins, and musk deer. The biodiversity here is very rich, and you can often encounter rare birds and animals when walking in the forest.
In autumn, the mountains in the Laohugou Valley are full of red leaves and colorful forests. The air is fresh and refreshing, just like a beautiful paradise.
Walking in such a landscape, your heart will dance in such a scenery, and the encounter with the Laohugou Valley is so wonderful.
Tips: The Laohugou Valley Reserve is dominated by high mountain canyon terrain, surrounded by the Laohugou Valley, Xiaohuzi Valley, and Shanhe Valley, which originate from the depths of the forest and flow into the Fujiang River, a tributary of the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, forming three relatively independent closed small watersheds.
Transportation route: Chengdu—Mianyang—Jiangyou—Pingwu Baicao—Gao Village—Laohugou Valley. Mianyang Jiangyou goes straight along the Ninth Ring Road to Pingwu Baicao Village, turn right into Pingqing (Pingwu—Qingchuan) Road, go straight to Gao Village, and enter the Laohugou Valley Nature Reserve.
Mianyang's hidden beauty.
📷Attraction check-in
1. Tianmu Lake - The lake is clear and green, like jade, and the surrounding mountains make it even more tranquil. Legend has it that this is where the Heavenly Mother bathed. Standing by the lake, you can almost hear the call of the ancients.
2. Tianmu Lake Observation Deck - From here, you can see the entire Tianmu Lake. It's the perfect spot for a photo! Remember to bring a wide-angle lens to capture the stunning beauty.
3. Baxijia Ancient Village - Next to Tianmu Lake, this is a primitive Tibetan tribe. The ancient buildings have distinctive features. The temperature difference between day and night is large, so remember to bring a thick coat. The "Flower Belt Inn" in the ancient village is amazing. The landlady is warm and hospitable, and there is a Tibetan Guozhuang dance party at night, which is super atmospheric! Recommended food:
In Baxijia Ancient Village, you must try the local specialty food! Honey wine, organic roasted potatoes with chili powder, old bacon and bacon rib soup pot, every bite is a feast for the taste buds! Photo tips:
The light is softest in the morning and evening, making it the best time to take photos of the lake. There are several observation decks by the lake. Find a good angle and easily take a blockbuster. The architecture and humanistic style in the ancient village are also must-see elements.
💢Tips:
Tianmu Lake is at a high altitude, so be sure to protect yourself from the sun and keep warm.
Please respect local customs when entering the ancient village. It's best to communicate with the locals before taking photos.
Please drive safely if you are on a self-driving tour. The mountain roads are rugged, so drive carefully.
I prefer this mysterious niche destination to Jiuzhaigou.
🌈**Travel plan**: Mianyang in October is a colorful painting. First, visit Beichuan Qiang City to experience the unique charm of the Qiang culture that has been passed down for thousands of years. Walk through the earthquake ruins, remember history, and respect nature. Then go to Yaowang Valley to enjoy the autumn leaves and learn about health preservation. Let your soul go on a healing journey.
🎒**Travel essentials**: Bring your camera📷 to capture every beautiful moment; a light jacket🧥, as the temperature difference between day and night is large, so you need to keep warm; sunscreen☀️, don't forget to apply sunscreen even though the autumn sun is gentle!
🚗**Transportation and navigation**: It is recommended to drive by yourself, and the scenery along the way is beautiful. Use Amap🗺️ to easily navigate to various attractions in Baimawanglang. If you take public transportation, it is convenient to take a bus or taxi from Mianyang Railway Station🚉 or the airport✈️.
💰**Budget**: The budget for an economical tour is expected to be more than CNY 2,000 per person, including accommodation, meals, tickets, and transportation. Book in advance for discounts, and pay attention to platform activities for more cost-effective options!
🍽️**Food and drink recommendations**: Mianyang rice noodles, a must-try for breakfast, soft and smooth; Jiangyou large intestine, spicy and satisfying, the first choice for late-night snacks. Don't forget to try the authentic Qiang cuisine and experience the ethnic customs on the tip of your tongue.
🏨**Accommodation guide**: It is recommended to stay in a characteristic homestay near Beichuan Qiang City, such as "Yunyin Qiangzhai", to experience the Qiang-style accommodation. It is unique to chat around the stove under the starry sky at night.
💡**Tips**: The weather in Mianyang in October is dry, so remember to hydrate and moisturize; the signal in some mountainous areas may be weak, so it is recommended to download offline maps in advance; respect local customs and habits, and be a civilized tourist.
Come to Mianyang and start an autumn fairy tale!🍁
Black Myth: Wukong check-in, Pingwu Baoensi check-in.
📍Pingwu|Baoensi|||🎫40
Black Myth: Wukong filming location, very shocking, children can also experience rubbings.
Black Myth: Wukong
A niche wild family route, Huya. There are no crowds of people on the other side of the mountain in Jiuzhaigou Valley.
Tired of over-commercialized and homogeneous parent-child travel routes, I finally found Huya, a niche attraction suitable for bringing children back to nature.
Fudan alumni led the team to hike to find giant panda footprints, interact with golden monkeys, and explore rare plants. Newly opened local B&B to experience Tibetan life.
The scenery is different throughout the year. On October 1, parents and children gather together for five days and four nights with rich activities. Welcome to leave a message!

Found a perfect summer getaway for a family trip around Mianyang
Decided to spend the weekend with a friend's family at a different place. After checking online, we found a well-reviewed homestay—Yiman Gaocun.
We set off after lunch. It used to take 4 hours to drive to Pingwu, but now with the highway, it's very convenient and takes only 2 hours. Upon arrival, they thoughtfully prepared homegrown fruits for us.
You can also experience fruit picking yourself. Haha, who can understand the joy of picking fruits?!
Since it's close to the Laohegou Nature Reserve, you can enjoy water activities nearby. The water quality is superb and very cool. You can even chill fruits in the water. Both kids and adults had a blast.
In the evening, we sat on the lawn, watching the stars and chatting. I wished that moment could slow down.
I can't help but introduce our room:
Cleanliness/Soundproofing: I give it full marks. It's very clean, and the quilt smells like sunshine.
Room Type/Layout: We chose the half-moon pool suite, which has a private yard and pool. Highly recommend this room if you're bringing kids.
Amenities/Facilities: They have all the toiletries. We brought our own but didn't need to use them. You can tell the hotel is very thoughtful about their amenities.
Restaurant Features: Breakfast was beef noodles cooked by an auntie, and it was delicious. They also have wild vegetables and mushrooms, all-natural and pollution-free.
Oh, and their chicken and pork come from local farmers' free-range chickens and grain-fed pigs. The meat is very firm.
During our stay, we became like family with the housekeeper and aunties. We love this place and will definitely come back. 💯
Mianyang 2h direct, found a place to let the soul lazy and escape from the world
The highway from Mianyang to Pingwu is open, so I couldn't wait to take a soul journey.
A friend stayed here before, so I chose this homestay again this time. Unfortunately, it was cloudy when I came, but it did not affect the ambiance of the homestay at all.
Navigation address: Pingwu Gaocun Township Lengjiaheba (near Laohekou Nature Reserve) Yiman Gaocun Homestay
Recommended reasons:
1. The hotel is built with the architectural concept of Sichuan Western residential houses. The design of the original wood style is very close to nature and integrates with nature, giving a sense of seclusion in a secret place.
2. The privacy is excellent, equipped with an independent private hot spring. You can take a warm medicinal bath at night.
3. Ordered a light mushroom soup pot for the kids. The soup base is very rich, and the chicken is raised by local farmers. It's super delicious, highly recommended 👍.
4. I like their small vegetable garden. You can let the kids pick vegetables and fruits by themselves. The housekeeper said that the owner planted many fruit trees, with different fruits in each season (peaches, plums, pomegranates, sugar oranges, etc.), satisfying all my beautiful memories of my hometown.
5. The aunt at the homestay is like an old friend, always smiling, showing us around, and introducing the room facilities one by one. This service deserves full marks.
6. Because it's by the river, you can put fruits and drinks in the river for natural ice-cooling effect, which is simply a bonus.
👉 Introducing our room, we booked the 1099 one with a garden + a whole granite private hot spring pool.
In the evening, taking the kids to soak in the private hot spring made them very happy, relieving the fatigue of the whole day.
The room we stayed in is called: Yunman. The name is so romantic, and the bed is soft, like sleeping in the clouds, very comfortable.
Woke up naturally in the morning, and breakfast was already prepared for us. In the afternoon, there was a barbecue set, and in the evening, there was a goodnight sweet soup.
The owner also gave each room a gift box of three flavors of 'vegetable' house.
This cost performance is really good‼️
Thankful for such a place in the busy life, I really like it, and I will come again next time.
Sichuan's Must-Visit Ancient Architecture TOP1! The low-key luxurious palace hidden in the deep mountains!
🏰 Although there are many ancient buildings and temples in Sichuan, if you can only visit one during your trip, please choose the Bao'en Temple in Pingwu, Mianyang without hesitation! 👑
🏞 Bao'en Temple is nestled on a small plain in the mountains of northern Sichuan and is officially referred to as the 'Palace in the Deep Mountains'. When you actually visit and experience it, its understated luxury will definitely dazzle you! 😍 It can be considered the pinnacle of ancient architecture in Sichuan and even the southwestern region! 💯
🏮 Travel back to the early Ming Dynasty, Bao'en Temple was built against the mountain, surviving 600 years of wind, frost, rain, and snow, becoming one of the three major early Ming Dynasty architectural complexes that remain in the country (the other two? Qu Tan Temple in Qinghai and Zhihua Temple in Beijing, go look up the guides yourself~😉).
🤔 There are various stories about its origin. Was it the secret mansion of a Tusi lord transformed? Or a grand royal creation? Regardless of which, it was destined for greatness from birth! 👑 Between the mountain gate and the Hall of Heavenly Kings, crossing the Jinshui Bridge feels like stepping into a mini Forbidden City~🏮
🖼 Entering Bao'en Temple is like opening a living history textbook. Statues, murals, dougong... each one is an artifact of art! The Four Heavenly Kings are majestic and powerful, the Thousand-Handed Guanyin is compassionate and dignified, and the 9-meter tall nanmu wood carving, each finger tells a story. 🖌 Although the murals are mottled, the brilliance of Ming Dynasty craftsmanship still shines, and the secrets of the Wanfo Pavilion are even more intriguing. 🚫
🏛 The number of dougong is rare in the country! With 36 styles and over 2000 pieces, it's like a 'dougong museum' of ancient architecture. The buildings along the central axis, from the mountain gate to the Hall of Heavenly Kings, and then to the Mahavira Hall, each step is like a lotus blooming, the grandeur and solemnity of official architecture command respect. 👏
🔍 The highlights of Bao'en Temple are not limited to these! One of only three rotating scripture repositories in the country is located here, with a wooden tower body carved with dragons and phoenixes, which can be easily turned by one person, feeling the passage of time. 💫 The nanmu pillars and beams are insect-resistant and earthquake-resistant, each bearing the weight of history. And those omnipresent dragons, from coiled dragons to small dragons, with a total count of over ten thousand, seem to protect the entire temple. 🐉
🎟 A little tip! Tickets are only 40r, and online reservations are easy to manage. The temple closes at 17:00 in winter and extends to 17:30 in summer. Departing from Mianyang or Jiangyou, there is a direct bus, with the journey from Jiangyou taking about 2.5 hours, and the last bus at 16:40, don't miss it! 🚌
🍽 Although Pingwu County is small, the beef feast at the halal restaurant is not to be missed. After visiting Bao'en Temple, why not take a detour to Jiangyou or continue the adventure to Jiuzhaigou, making your Sichuan trip even more splendid because of Bao'en Temple! 🚗
Exploring the Deep Mountain Forbidden City: The 9999 Dragons and Six Wonders of Bao'en Temple
In that season brimming with the essence of spring, I embarked on a journey to Bao'en Temple, filled with longing for the legendary 'Deep Mountain Forbidden City.' Bao'en Temple, a hidden gem nestled in a small county town, its stories and beauty are like Mr. Lu Xun's Garden of Hundreds of Grasses, full of mystery and allure.
I. Departure
Early in the morning, I left the bustling city and headed towards the tranquil mountains. The scenery outside the car window gradually changed from skyscrapers to rolling green hills, and my heart settled down with it. Departing from Chengdu, after a journey of more than three hours, I arrived at this ancient temple.
II. First Encounter with Bao'en Temple
Standing in front of Bao'en Temple, I was struck by its grandeur and exquisiteness. The temple was founded in the fifth year of the Zhengtong era of the Ming Dynasty and took twenty years of wind and rain to complete. It stands like an old man who has experienced the vicissitudes of life, quietly narrating the changes of history.
III. The Beauty of the Six Wonders
Entering the temple, I was captivated by the 'Six Wonders.' First was the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara in its full form, carved from a single piece of Phoebe zhennan wood, its solemn and respectful posture inspiring reverence. Then there were the exquisitely made dougong brackets, with elaborate decorations inside and out, a rich variety and numerous in quantity, each unique, as if witnesses to history.
IV. The Charm of Phoebe zhennan
The construction material of Bao'en Temple is uniformly Phoebe zhennan wood, a type of timber that was extremely precious in ancient Pingwu. The fragrance and texture of Phoebe zhennan wood seem to transport one back to the prosperous Ming Dynasty, feeling the weight of history.
V. The Charm of the Murals
The murals are another highlight of Bao'en Temple, blending the painting styles of the early and middle Ming Dynasty with those of local artists, influenced by Tibetan Buddhist aesthetics. Each mural is a story, each color a piece of history.
VI. The Huayan Sutra Wheel
The Huayan Sutra Wheel, a treasure of the temple constructed from Phoebe zhennan wood, stands quietly within the temple. Its solemnity and mystery command respect.
VII. The Gathering of Ten Thousand Dragons
Most astonishing are the legendary 9999 dragons. They are hidden or visible, integrated into every corner of the temple. I could almost hear them whispering in the wind, telling ancient tales.
VIII. Touring Suggestions
When visiting Bao'en Temple, I suggest that visitors slow down and savor every detail. The entrance fee is 40 yuan, and the parking fee is 10 yuan. These small expenses are exchanged for a spiritual cleansing.
IX. Surrounding Tours
If time allows, consider a two-day trip. Visit Bao'en Temple on the first day, and go to the Pingtong Plum Grove on the second day to experience the tranquility and beauty of nature.
X. Concluding Remarks
As night fell, I left Bao'en Temple with a heart full of harvest and reflection. It is like Mr. Lu Xun's Sanwei Bookhouse, providing me with knowledge, thought, and a deeper reverence for history.
