Today's Weather
Partly clear -2-16℃
Popular Attractions
Mammoth Hot Springs
Norris Geyser Basin
Brink of Lower Falls
Mud Volcano
Upper Falls View
Yellowstone National Park Mud Volcano.
The Mud Volcano area is located north of Yellowstone Lake and is the only geothermal area in the eastern part of the park. Although it is not large, it is very distinctive: most of the springs here are mud springs, and you can hardly see any colorful springs. The first attraction is the Mud Caldron, which is close to the entrance and is a pool of steaming mud. Another attraction is the Mud Geyser, which was once a geyser with a changing appearance, sometimes boiling and sometimes as calm as a hot spring pool, with no trace of "mud." The blue water in the distant forest is the famous Yellowstone River.

Lamar Valley, Yellowstone National Park
Lamar Valley
This part of Yellowstone is sometimes called the American Serengeti and offers the best wildlife viewing in the park. Located in the northeast corner of Yellowstone, Lamar Valley is home to large herds of bison and is the place where visitors are most likely to see wolves. At least one pack of wolves, sometimes two, usually resides in this valley. In fact, Lamar Valley is where one of the park's most famous wolf packs, the Druids, once lived. Other creatures that can often be found in Lamar Valley include pronghorn, elk, coyotes, and bears. It's best to look for bears and wolves in the early morning or evening.
Yellowstone National Park's Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.
This rugged, colorful canyon was carved by the powerful Yellowstone River over thousands of years. The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone's most famous attractions are its two very impressive waterfalls—the Upper Falls and the Lower Falls. The Lower Falls is twice the height of Niagara Falls, with a drop of about 300 feet (90 meters), while the Upper Falls drops 109 feet (33 meters). The area also features several hot springs and steam vents. For those who want to stay in the area, Canyon Village offers accommodations, including hotel rooms, RVs, and tent campsites.

⛺ Fountain Paint Pot
The paint pot is a mud fountain. The minerals in the soil and rocks are dissolved by the acidic hot springs to form mud. Because the viscosity of the mud is very high, you can clearly see the slow formation and disappearance of bubbles. This is a hot spring with a high temperature, usually showing a blue or dark green tone. Walking here, you will see a strong sense of vicissitudes, like the end of the world. Perhaps the environment here is too harsh and not suitable for the growth of trees.
🛬 Norris Geyser Basin
Norris Geyser Basin is located on the west side of Yellowstone National Park. It is the hottest, most active, and most unstable series of geysers in Yellowstone National Park.
The world's largest geyser, Steamboat Geyser, is also located in this area. It has been dormant for a long time and erupts only once in a long time. The last eruption was in 2008. The hot springs here are always changing, with new hot springs appearing and old hot springs drying up. A small earthquake can change the hot spring area, and the different colors in the water can show the different water temperatures.
🏨 Biscuit Basin
As the name suggests, the fountains here are like small biscuits, without large pools, but with very bright colors.
The basin has many small and unique geothermal landscapes, among which the "Sapphire Pool" is the essence of this area, pure as a gem, and the deep blue seems to suck people in.
🧡 Fishing Bridge
Fishing Bridge spans the Yellowstone River and is the outlet of Yellowstone Lake, with a long history.
The blue waves under the bridge are very refreshing, with blue sky, green trees, and clear water. Visitors can walk to the shore under the bridge to play in the water.
Fishing Bridge was once a good place for fishing, but later the park banned fishing to protect the ecology of Yellowstone National Park. In June and July, you can watch wild trout swim upstream to spawn.

Mammoth Hot Springs @ Yellowstone National Park
#wyoming #usatravel
The beauty of nature is pure and endless. We've witnessed it with our own eyes and felt it with our own bodies.
Our journey led us to Mammoth Hot Springs, one of the most iconic and fascinating geothermal features in Yellowstone National Park, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to witness the power and beauty of geothermal activity. With its stunning terraces, vibrant colors, and fascinating geological formations, Palette Spring, in particular, showcases a range of hues, including brilliant whites, yellows, oranges, and browns, creating a visually stunning spectacle.
There was a series of boardwalks and viewing platforms that allowed visitors to explore the terraces up close.
Mammoth Hot Springs, like all areas of Yellowstone National Park, is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is subject to strict conservation measures. Visitors are reminded to stay on designated trails and boardwalks to protect the fragile thermal features and to ensure their safety.
We spent hours enjoying the beauty of Mammoth Hot Springs and left with hearts full of wonderful experiences.
Palette Spring @ Yellowstone National Park
#wyoming #usatravel
During our 4th of July trip, we had the chance to visit Yellowstone National Park, one of the most beautiful places on earth that we've ever been to.
There were many spots that we stopped by, and we couldn't help but be overwhelmed by the beauty of nature that created such a charming place like this.
The first spot we arrived at was the Palette Spring, which is part of the Mammoth Hot Springs, a complex of hot springs on a hill of travertine terraces. These terraces are formed by the precipitation of calcium carbonate from the hot water that flows over them. The resulting formations resemble an artist's palette, with vivid hues ranging from brilliant whites and yellows to deep oranges and browns, depending on the minerals present and the thermophilic bacteria thriving in the hot water.
Despite the summer heat and the warmth of the hot spring, we found ourselves staying longer than we thought we could because the beauty of this spot won us over.

Unique American Attraction - Mammoth Hot Springs
The Mammoth Hot Springs in the United States is a unique natural hot spring resort, surrounded by natural forests, as if in an unpolluted primitive world. The fresh air is filled with the unique scent of the hot springs. The most famous of Mammoth Hot Springs is its unique thermal terrace landscape, where the hot springs flow down the hillside in sections, layered like terraces, which is a great spectacle.
♨How to play at Mammoth Hot Springs?
Mammoth Hot Springs is divided into Upper Terraces and Lower Terraces. The Lower Terraces have a boardwalk for visitors to walk & tour, the boardwalk is very easy to walk, you can see all in about an hour, with the famous Liberty Cap, Palette Spring and Minerva Spring. The Upper Terraces is a road about 2.5 kilometers long for visitors to drive 🚗. You can park your car in the parking lot of the Lower Terraces, and go to the Upper Terraces after visiting the Lower Terraces. If time is tight, it is recommended to visit the more famous Lower Terraces first, especially the Palette Terrace and Jupiter & Mound Terraces at the entrance of the trail.
I arrived at one or two in the afternoon, and the parking lot was almost full. The flow of people feels much more than the attractions on the east side of Yellowstone.
⚠Note: It is best to go at noon or in the afternoon, otherwise the temperature is too low in the morning and evening, and the mist of the hot springs will make it unclear
The super cool Mammoth Hot Springs, a treasure spot in Yellowstone Park
Mammoth Hot Springs♨️ in Yellowstone National Park is the most popular geothermal wonder. It is located on the east side of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and is one of the largest hot springs in the park. Mammoth Hot Springs is known for its incredible colors and grand scale.
It is the largest known carbonate deposit hot spring in the world. The landscape is mainly composed of limestone terraces, also known as hot terraces, which can be divided into Upper Terraces and Lower Terraces. The spring water of Mammoth Hot Springs♨️ comes from the Norris Geyser Basin, with a temperature up to 77℃. Many algae live in the hot springs, making the color of the hot springs brown, orange, red, and green. The flowing hot springs rush down the terraces with different colors, forming a colorful large terrace, the scene is very magnificent .
In addition to its eye-catching colors and scale, Mammoth Hot Springs♨️ also shows the magical power from the depths of the earth, with hot water continuously gushing out from the ground, forming a magnificent pool. The temperature in this pond is extremely high, giving people a unique visual and sensory experience.
In addition to its magnificent color, Mammoth Hot Springs is also eye-catching for its huge scale. Its diameter is about 60 meters and its depth is more than 30 meters. The color stairs around the hot springs form a fascinating scene, attracting countless tourists to stop and watch.
Mammoth Hot Springs was the first major attraction we saw, it was really spectacular! From a distance, it is a white terrace landscape with colors in the middle! It reminds me of Jiuzhaigou, but it's a completely different beauty!
📝Of course, when visiting Mammoth Hot Springs, you must follow the guide's arrangements and pay attention to safety! Because the water temperature is extremely high, it is kept above 80℃ all year round. Therefore, visitors must strictly abide by the park's warnings and safety instructions , and must not approach or attempt to touch the hot springs.

Take the time alone to digest the world, Norris Geyser Basin.
Norris Geyser Basin
📝Attention tips: This place is very big, you can walk around the wooden plank road, but be careful, this is still the most acidic pool, don't fall in!
👍Most recommended: Although everything here is beautiful, because there are not many scenic spots in the upper part, everyone can still save some energy and enter directly from the West Gate and walk north, which I believe will definitely bring you a visual shock!
❤Recommendation reason: Why is it called a geyser? Because it is in a volcanic area, the hot lava will raise the temperature of the surrounding water layers, even turning them into steam. When the steam encounters cracks in the rock layers, it rises along the cracks, and when the temperature drops below the boiling point, it condenses into high-temperature water. These accumulated waters, along with the upper groundwater, rise to the surface along the cracks in the layers and erupt periodically, forming a geyser.
In this natural boiler, there must be a deep spring water channel. The underground water is heated by the hot magma under the channel, but is also under pressure from the high-pressure water column above the channel, unable to freely roll and boil. The narrow channel restricts the convection of the spring water up and down; thus, the water below the channel is constantly heated and accumulating energy until the steam pressure at the bottom of the water column exceeds the pressure at the top of the water column. Then, the high-temperature and high-pressure hot water and steam underground will push all the water in the channel out of the surface, causing a powerful eruption. After the eruption, as the water temperature drops and the pressure decreases, the eruption will temporarily stop and accumulate energy again for the next eruption.
High Tower Waterfall
Tower Fall is located in Yellowstone National Park, USA, and is the most famous attraction in the Roosevelt area. The Tower Creek flows down from a height of 40 meters, forming a waterfall constrained by eroded volcanic ash stalactites. The Banockford Shoal on the Yellowstone River near the waterfall is an important crossing for Native Americans, early tourists, and late 19th century miners on their journeys.

Yellowstone National Park, also known as Yellowstone Park, is managed by the National Park Service of the United States. On March 1, 1872, it was officially named a national park for the protection of wildlife and natural resources. In 1978, it was listed as a world natural heritage site in the World Heritage List, making it the first national park in the world. Yellowstone National Park covers an area of approximately 898,317 hectares, mainly located in Wyoming, USA, with parts in Montana and Idaho. Yellowstone Park is divided into five areas: the Mammoth Hot Springs area in the northwest, which is mainly composed of limestone terraces and is also known as the Hot Terrace area; the Roosevelt area in the northeast, which still retains the old western landscape; the Canyon area in the middle, where visitors can see the Yellowstone Grand Canyon and waterfalls; the Yellowstone Lake area in the southeast, which is mainly characterized by the lake and mountain scenery; and the Geyser area in the west and southwest, which is full of geysers, hot springs, steam pools, hot water ponds, mud and fumaroles. There is also a historical museum in the park. The park is one of the largest volcanic craters in the world and has one of the largest forests in the world. There are over 10,000 hot springs and more than 300 geysers, as well as over 290 waterfalls. The park features landscapes such as Yellowstone Lake, Yellowstone River, canyons, waterfalls, and hot springs, making it a famous tourist destination. Yellowstone National Park is proudly referred to by Americans as the "most unique and magical playground on earth". The park is easily accessible, with a mountainous road stretching over 500 kilometers, connecting the main attractions of each area, and hiking trails extending over 1,500 kilometers.
Tower Fall is located on the north side of Yellowstone National Park, with a waterfall drop of 132 feet, making it the most famous waterfall in the park. The area near Tower Fall is a frequent spot for black bears. The Tower Fall, with its cascading water, is twice the height of Niagara Falls, and the Lookout Point is the official best viewing spot.
Mammoth Hot Springs MAMMOTH HOT SPRINGS: Located in the northwest of Yellowstone Park, it is the largest proven carbonate sedimentary hot spring in the world. Looking at Mammoth Hot Spring from a distance, it looks like a mountain covered in white snow, but when you get closer, you find that it is the perfect combination of Pamukkale and Huanglong.
The snow-white and dark-yellow steps formed by the hot springs are like terraced fields. When the hot spring gushes out from the limestone layer, the hot water will dissolve the calcium carbonate in the limestone into the water. When the water flowing out of the surface cools down, the calcium carbonate in the water will condense and deposit into a lime platform because it is too saturated. When the underground outlet hole is blocked by accumulations, the spring water will flow to other outlets to form another platform. The spring water deposited in the platform is affected by the activities of algae and microorganisms, so it forms yellow, white, brown and other colors, and the layers are stacked to form "travertine steps".
It is a pity that after a crustal movement in Mammoth Hot Spring in 2002, most of the hot springs stopped their activities, resulting in the death of a large number of microorganisms, which made the Mammoth Hot Spring lose its color, and the dead bacteria also turned into off-white powder, which remained in the On the great dry steps. Reflecting the dazzling sunlight, it turned this place into a barren land of austerity. In a few years, the hot spring ruins will further collapse and turn gray, and even the white steps may not be visible.
Grand Prismatic Spring
Grand Prismatic Spring, also known as the Grand Rainbow Hot Spring, is the largest hot spring in the United States and the third largest in the world. With a diameter of over 100 meters, it displays different colors such as blue, green, yellow, orange, and red from the center outwards, making it the largest and most beautiful scenic spot in terms of area and color.
It is impossible to see the panoramic view of the Grand Prismatic Spring from the peripheral trail. Viewing the prism up close is greatly affected by the constantly rising hot steam and wind, which greatly reduces the viewing effect. The best angle to see the prism is from above. To see the full view of this beautiful "Yellowstone eye", you have to climb the mountain behind the Prism Spring. Drive southeast along the highway, walk along the river road for about ten minutes, and you can see the prism emitting hot steam on your right hand side. On the left side of the mountain, there is a small path that many people have come out of, which is not very difficult. After climbing to the platform on the mountain for about ten minutes, you can see the panoramic view of the prism. There are trails in the Prism Spring scenic area, but it is not very clear to see because of the steam.
