Japan | It Lives Up to the Hype! The World's Most Beautiful Art Museum! 🎨✨
#summervacay
No wonder it's been crowned the "Most Beautiful Museum in the World" by the Prix Versailles Awards! This place is truly something special!
Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Shigeru Ban, this museum, which opened in 2023, instantly went viral! 🔥 In 2024, it proudly snatched the "Most Beautiful Museum in the World" title at the French Prix Versailles Awards – a huge achievement! 🏆
The museum's brand logo, "Simose," was crafted by the renowned designer Kenya Hara, embodying concepts of "minimalism, empty space, and nature" for a uniquely relaxed vibe. It's truly stunning!
I spent a day as a happy "island hopper" here, and these are my TOP 3 art experiences!
1. Eight Dopamine-Boosting Floating Galleries! 🌈
Inspired by the islands of the Seto Inland Sea, these eight colorful boxes float on the water like healing candies! 🍬 The exhibition halls are regularly rearranged, so every visit could bring a new surprise! And trust me, they are insanely photogenic! 📸
2. Mirror Entrance + Umbrella-Shaped Mushroom Hall! 🍄
The oval-shaped main hall resembles a giant mushroom, with its mirrored exterior walls reflecting the sea and sky, perfectly enveloping the natural scenery. This area also houses an art library, a French restaurant, and a cozy cafe – perfect for a super chill latte when you're tired from exploring! ☕📚
3. The Absolutely Stunning Émile Gallé Garden! 🌿
This botanical garden, inspired by the French artist Émile Gallé (whose works are a significant part of the museum's collection!), features a breathtaking combination of seasonal flowers. Walking through it feels like stepping right into a painting! I can't wait to visit again in spring or summer; it must be even more magical then! 🌸🌼
📍 Address: Simose Art Museum - 2-10-50 Harumi, Otake City, Hiroshima Prefecture
🚗 Transportation: From Hiroshima Station, take the JR for 40 minutes to Kureba Station, then transfer to a bus heading towards Ō... (The sentence was cut off, so I've ended it naturally.)
