I went to Shimose Art Museum! There is a parking lot on the premises, but I got a little lost on the way there Once you enter, you will find a spacious space! Here’s the schedule I followed for my one-day Hiroshima adventure! 🚄 Around 9 AM: Arrive at Hiroshima Station! 🚃 Take the JR train to Miyajimaguchi! ⛴️ Board the ferry to Miyajima! ⛩️ Spend 2–3 hours enjoying Miyajima! First, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Itsukushima Shrine. Then, stroll through the shopping street and savor momiji manju (maple leaf-shaped sweets)! The ice cream sandwich and fried momiji manju are absolutely delicious! Here’s a recommendation: try the momiji manju hand-baking experience! Reservations are required! 💰 Price per person: 880 yen ⚠️ Starting July 1, the price will increase to 1,000 yen. 📍 Location: Yamadaya Miyajima Main Store The experience is not only fun, but the freshly made momiji manju you bake yourself is amazing! You’ll also receive a souvenir of Kirioka sweets, which I personally preferred over momiji manju. This is a new private art museum that opened in March 2023. Unlike public art museums, the admission fee is a little high at 1,700 yen, but it is a wonderful museum that makes you want to go back again. The building itself is art, and glass and mirrors are scattered everywhere, so the word "stylish" suits it well. I imagine the maintenance costs, such as cleaning the mirrors and what happens if they are broken, must be quite expensive. In addition to the art, there is a flower garden, a restaurant, and apparently you can even stay overnight. Even if you are not interested in art, you can still enjoy it. Highly recommended for a date with your partner. You will definitely be impressed that you took them to a stylish place.

I went to the Shimose Art Museum, which opened in Hiroshima in March. I was overwhelmed by the wooden space designed by Shigeru Ban. The interior of the museum is filled with Shigeru Ban's intricate design, such as the chairs. The glass-walled museum is lined with works by Emile Gallé, a representative of the Art Nouveau era. Outside is a garden modeled after Emile Gallé's garden. It was a hot summer, but the location was perfect.
