1. A brief introduction to Cham Towers
Ninh Thuan Cham Towers is one of the unique architectural works with high historical and cultural value in Ninh Thuan province, Vietnam. Built in the 13th century, Ninh Thuan Cham Towers have gone through hundreds of years of history and still stand strong to this day, a famous tourist destination of the province.
Ninh Thuan Cham Towers are located at the entrance gate to Phan Rang town, about 7km northeast of Phan Rang - Thap Cham city center. The tower is about 20m high, built of high-quality red stone, shaped like a field of blooming lotus flowers. The architecture of the Cham Towers is imbued with Cham culture, with beautiful decorative patterns and motifs and high artistic value.
In addition to being a tourist attraction, Ninh Thuan Cham Towers also have special historical and cultural value. This is one of the precious Cham cultural heritages, demonstrating the development and contribution of Cham culture to the development of Vietnam.
The Cham Towers were built in the 13th century under the Champa dynasty, with the purpose of worshiping the gods of the Champa country and also a place of worship for the Cham emperors and nobles.
When the Champa empire weakened, Ninh Thuan Cham Towers became one of the places of worship for the Vietnamese people, especially during the Nguyen Dynasty. The towers have also undergone many repairs, reconstructions and upgrades throughout history.
Currently, Ninh Thuan Cham Towers are still one of the cultural heritages of the Cham people in Vietnam.
